About this listen

Crazy has no memory and feels no fear. Dangerous and unpredictable, he's locked away in SafeHaven, a psychiatric hospital, where he spends the long days watching Wheel of Fortune and wondering what the outside world smells like. When a mysterious visitor arrives and offers him a way out Crazy doesn't hesitate to accept.

But outside the hospital Crazy is faced with a world on the brink of nuclear annihilation, and finds himself relocated to Neuro Inc., a secretive corporation with strange government ties. When he discovers evidence of human experimentation he escapes with a syringe, the contents of which are unknown to him but precious to Neuro. Cornered and with a complete disregard for the results, Crazy makes himself indispensable by injecting the substance into his leg.

As the substance enters his bloodstream, though, his eyes are opened to a world beyond human experience, where fear is a tool and the shadows hide the source of mankind's nightmares. Struggling to understand his new abilities, Crazy allies himself with the company he fled and begins peeling back the layers of his past, the brewing war between worlds, how he can stop it - and what he did to start it.

With Mirrorworld, Robinson, whose trademarked pacing and inventive plots have been highly praised by bestselling authors like Jonathan Maberry, Scott Sigler, and James Rollins, treats listeners to a wildly imaginative, frenetically paced thriller exploring the origins of fear.

Crazy Scary Story -- RC Bray is brilliant

I bought this book because R.C. Bray is an amazing narrator! As a bonus I was delighted to discover that Jeremy Robinson has written a good science fiction tale with lots of convincing-sounding science and technobabble. The story line is basically "Jason Borne saves the world from "fearsome" aliens hidden in an interdimensional reality". Lots of obligatory machismo, high-tech weaons, blood and gore, mixed with monsters and a sprinkling of romance. Could make a good Sci-Fi Channel movie.

This is essentially a Marvel movie of a book

This was essentially a Marvel movie of a book. Too bad because some of the sci-fi ideas were really interesting. Fundamentally, though, the book degenerated into tired “damsel in distress” and princess rescue tropes. The ending was essentially a predictable extended chase scene with a prolonged fistfight to finish off. It could have been so much more.

Thrill ride with a great story and performance!

As soon as I finished this book, I had to write a review. I’ve become drawn to SciFi books, particularly ones that have a bit of realistic correlation that allows the story to have some parts grounded in plausibility. Don’t get me wrong, this book is full of monsters and technological leaps that require the imagination to stretch. As you may have gathered from listening to other books, R.C. Bray has another exceptional performance. He delivers a masterpiece as each character comes to life. The author is very descriptive throughout the book and leaves very few moments (if any) without meaning. The story is griping from beginning to end. I can very well see this being an action packed thriller on the big screen, but I’m afraid that it couldn’t possibly match the imagery and delivery of Bray.

Great story!

Another great book by Robinson. He really knows how to write a gripping thriller with a good story. I will always second guess when I feel an odd chill in the air or feel an intense fear for no reason.

Predictable great story

I even got a little fear one night listening And had to put the story down for a day or so. Really enjoyed the story even though the reviews said it wasn’t that good. I guess that shows that some people do not know what they are talking about or they are just scared. Just listen to it you will like it.

No spoilers

Every time I listen to a new a new story by Jeremy Robinson I think THIS one is my favorite…that lasts only until the next one. This story has characters who are strangely relatable despite not being like anyone you’d meet on the street. The author doesn’t hesitate to mix innovative story lines with action and science with mythology to leave you dying to know what happens but not wanting it to end!
