It took a while to warm up to the hero actually falling in love with the heroine after ignoring her for 5 years but the last half of the book was very good. Some good quotes, "I want my springtime" and "you are already married you just don't know it yet"

First half a little slow second half great

This book -- the story of the arrogant boss who is lost when his work-wife dumps him -- has long been my favorite Laura Lee Guhrke title, and so I was quite pleased to see that it finally was coming out in audiobook format. Alas, the narrator, while competent, just did not work for me. She does fine as Miss Dove, but the Harry portrayed in the written book just does not come through. Missing is his sense of entitlement, his sputtering rage when Miss Dove quit, and his befuddlement when he begins to realize that he's falling for her. It is probably unfair, but I keep thinking about what the incomparable Kate Reading could have done. Sigh.

Love the story, but the narrator misses the mark

It's my favourite book (at least so far) by one of my favourite romance writers. I love the lead couple, they are both so real and so relatable characters. I also adore Laura Lee Guhrke's writing style. I loved reading my kindle copy of the novel a couple of years ago and I enjoyed listening to the audiobook just as much. The narrator did a really good job. I whish I could say the same about the narration of the Guilty series. Listening to the samples was enough to prevent me from listening to the books even though some of them are free. But, it's probably just a question of taste.

A wonderful story

I have listened to a zillion audible romance novels, and it is a rare treat when you have an excellent story and an excellent narrator. I had never heard of this narrator and was wary, but she was excellent, as was this romantic and interesting story with likeable flawed people. I will be buying the next novel in the series now 😊

absolutely excellent - writing, narration, everything
