Battling pirates is easier than resisting their heat...
Gwen has always denied her attraction to Anders. Even after her marriage ends, getting involved with Anders is unthinkable. It's not only that he's a hot alien prince. He's her co-pilot and best friend. She can't risk losing him.
Anders has always been a rebel, but a near-death experience has made him question his priorities. Now that Gwen's single, he can't pretend they're just friends. He's always loved her, but if she doesn't admit she cares for him too, he'll get his heart broken.
When pirates seize their starship, taking the rest of the royal family hostage, it's up to Anders and Gwen to look for help. Can they stay alive long enough to defeat the pirates and save the passengers? And if they do, will Gwen finally stop fighting her feelings?

now this indecision was part of the enchantment of the book because they kept making mistakes so basic it was funny, now the piloting was so hot really.
and I liked that this one too interwined with other books on terramates series that eas a super plus.
an entertaining tale

This story was another adventure filled with action and laced with over the top angsty romance. Some of the back and forth was hard to believe but it was still cute in an "Earth Girls Are Easy", 80's-kitschy kind of way.
The Audiobook narrators have been used throughout this series and are fun to listen to. There's a few little things which throw me off - some ill fitting vocal inflections and extended pauses - but I don't know if it's a reflection on the narrators or just the wording in the book. Maybe a little of both.
I'm still enjoying reading through and following the adventures of these brothers, and looking forward to the next adventure.

Gwen is human and his co-pilot and Anders thinks she would be a perfect mate/wife for him and has loved her from afar for a long time. She has always been out of bounds because she is married to another human worker on the ship. The ship in question is carrying the "Human Brides" and the hope of the Auxem race back to Auxem. Also on the ship are Ander's four brothers and his father. His father is King of Auxem which makes Anders a Prince.
The previous two books in this series were the stories of Arnon, the Crown Prince and Ayrie and how they met their wives/mates as part of an agreement with Earth to provide women who do not carry a certain gene because carriers of this gene give birth to boys and Auxem is a world without women. All the women having died from a virus and now that same virus is beginning to effect the men, they will all be sterile within a few years and the race will die out without the birth of lots of girl babies to carry on the race.
In this book Anders finds out that Gwen's husband has left her and she is now divorced. He thinks his attraction to her is not reciprocated and that he will have to be content being just her friend and partner at work. On the day he finds out that Gwen is a free woman their transport ship is captured by space pirates. Gwen and Anders are the only ones able to escape and try to get help. The pirates intend to sell everything of value on the ship, especially the women, and will probably kill the men.
Whist Anders and Gwen are off ship trying to elicit help their attraction deepens and they not only have to contend with finding help they have to battle their attraction to each other because each believes that the other is too good for them and to just have a fling is not possible because once a man from Auxem has sex with a woman they are bonded and if they bond without love then both of them can go mad! Added to this the men of Auxem have a secret that they are not able to tell not even to their mates/wives by Royal Decree, The future of their race depends upon it.
Even once they find help they still have to free everyone on the ship without the pirates finding out and killing people or selling the women. It's a really exciting tale and is beautifully told by the excellent narrators. Piper Fairweather and Connor Brown.
I can't wait for the next book in the series. All the brothers are so different as are the women they end up loving.

Would you consider the audio edition of Anders to be better than the print version?
I only have the audio version so I can't compare. What other book might you compare Anders to and why?
Ayries, because it both books the two main characters must depend on Each other to survive at some point in the book.Which scene was your favorite?
I like the scenes where Anders and Gwen were trying to out-maneuver the two pirates chasing them. The banter between them as Anders got cocky about his skills and Gwen humbled him a bit. But in the end each proved to be above the cut.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I think the final battle scene, where Gwen is piloting while Anders is trying to make that crucial hit to take out the pirates main generator.Any additional comments?
Loved Anders and Gwen! My favorite in the series so far! ANDERS is the third book (and the third brother) in Lisa Lace's newest series, Auxem, about the five Prince's from the planet who have come to earth in search of brides. It's also essentially the sixteenth book in her TerraMates series, since the bride's are found, with permission from Earth's government officials, through TerraMates. However, this book is a stand-alone, full-length science fiction romance with no cliffhangers.Unlike his two older brothers, Arnon and Ayries, Anders didn't choose a wide from among the women in Earth. Anders is a pilot with exceptional skill... and the swagger to go with it, and this is where his focus lies. He has no time for love. Especially when the woman he loved most died. He refuses to go through that pain again.
Gwen was not part of the Brides program, but she is on board the Auxem's ship as a pilot, Anders' co-pilot and greatest temptation. They make a great team and have become close friends. When everyone on the Ayden ship is suddenly in danger it's up to Anders and Gwen to save them all. Their great teamwork will be tested and so will Anders hope to keep from falling in love with Gwen, and Gwen's hope to not fall for the handsome Prince she thinks would never want her. Both are burning with desire for the other, but the Auxem mate with only one woman and it's for life, are they ready for that commitment?
Great story! Lots of danger, adventure, excitement and all set in brilliant futuristic, alien settings. There's also plenty of laughs, witty dialogue, and some creative sexy times for a couple who can't quite go all the way!! 4.5 stars
~The narration for Anders was excellent. The best so far in all of Lisa Lace's books I've listened to so far. There is good pacing in the reading, real emotion and good variances demonstrated in the different characters. It made a huge difference for me.
