About this listen

As if he doesn't have enough to handle between running outlaws out of Cheyenne, keeping his brothers out of trouble, and avenging his father's death, Sheriff Sawyer McCade's meddling mother just dumped a mysterious mail-order bride on his doorstep. One woman can be more trouble than a band of renegades, and while this one has him all stirred up, he'd rather get to the bottom of the story she isn't telling.

Rose Parker had it all - until a web of danger and deceit sends her running to Cheyenne posing as a mail-order bride. Escaping the evils of New York seems sensible until she meets the unsuspecting sheriff who didn't ask for her, has no intention of marrying her, and won't rest until he uncovers her secret and sends her back home.

I really enjoyed this story so much!!

I love historical romance and I definitely have enjoyed quite a few mail order bride stories. This story was so detailed and the mothers reason for getting a bride for her son was so understandable. Sawyer of course is upset and has no intention of marrying but we women have a way of getting to stubborn men. I loved how they came together in this story and had a HEA.

Loved this story so much!

Wow, this book was a great audio book! And although it was longer than other audio books I've listened to, it was so much better because of it, and I truly can't wait to read the next book in this series! Thank you so much Mrs. Turner for letting me listen to your audio book it was truly an honor and I can't wait to read about the next McCade brother, hopefully the other 4 brothers get their HEA also!

worthy read, keep reader guessing!!

I always appreciate a well written book and one that keeps my interest. whether it be a romance or a suspense. However , I really appreciate it when I find the two combined. a love story strong and powerful in whicha mystery is woven keeping the reader guessing. and guessing.! this book is both and I highly recommend it. Any steamy parts are well written, based on love and respect between characters, and are not just, 'hot sex' written to sell s book. I love a story that cherishes rather than exploits the act of love between a couple. Hope u love it, too!!

An Exciting Read

Would you consider the audio edition of Sawyer's Rose to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the book, opting to listen instead. Glad I did-love the narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

The story touched on a subject not usually discussed for that time period. (Not leaving a spoiler.)

What about Dawson McBride’s performance did you like?

Love, Love, Love this narrator-he has that Sam Elliot voice. Perfect for the western genre.

Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful first book in this series. Can't wait for the rest.

Loving this series!

Kim Turner is a new to me author, but this certainly will nit be my last listen by her! She has brought the west to life with this highly visual story with family, suspense and love! Sawyer is busy keeping things in line with his brothers and being sheriff. His mother wants more for his life, so when Rose is in need of a place to go for her own protection, she is brought in as a mail order bride for Sawyer. And the fun begins! The banter, the passion, the understanding that these two have is what makes this listen so good! It’s a complex story, with Sawyer’s past coming to play, outlaws, and injuries. Quite a few twists and turns, all letting us get to know the family and the community. I love these kind of stories that encompass such strong family ties and the feelings both good and bad that go along with it. It’s real, emotional, suspenseful and loving. Couldn’t ask for a better listen.

Narrated to perfection by the voice of Dawson McBride, his twang and pace is just how I expect. He adds gruffness to the outlaws, tenderness when in love and that warm protective feel to his voice as he keeps the family safe. He adds a great flare to the banter between brothers and I love his ability to go between the male and female characters with ease. It’s a spectacular listen.

Fantastic Debut

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I listened to this on audio in return for a fair review.

Let start off by saying the narrator, Dawson McBride, is amazing. When I say amazing, I mean his voice is reminiscent of Sam Elliot and James Earl Jones. His voice just has that "something". It was gripping! The way he spoke with inflections and drawl. *insert heart filled sigh*

The book. It was a solid debut. This book sets up a great series! The characters were well developed and the family was relatable. It was action packed and filled with adventure.

McCabe's of Cheynne Book 1

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I loved this book and get into historical western romances . The story was well written and had you wondering about what the bad guys would do next and how the hero and heroine react to the attraction and the things trying to keep them apart. This book had surprises I didn't expect.

What other book might you compare Sawyer's Rose to and why?

It's similar to a lot of the western historical I like to read. I really get to wondering when the bad guys might show up next and what will happen to everyone involved.

What about Dawson McBride’s performance did you like?

That it was smooth and he put the right infliction and emotion into what he was reading so that you knew what the characters were feeling. It was the first time I ever used an audio book and I recommend it when you need to be on the move.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Come meet Sawyer McCabe a tough as nails lawman with a heart as big as a Wyoming sky and the woman who captures his heart Rose Parker.

Any additional comments?

Sawyers Rose made me laugh and root for the good guys and had a few surprises I didn't expect. I knew my friend Kim Turner would be a good writer when I heard that she had started a writing career and was glad to get to know Rose Parker and Sawyer McCabe and his family in her debut book. I've always been a sucker for a feisty western woman and a stubborn cowboy with a tender heart waiting for the right woman to come along. I loved getting to know these characters and their friends and family along the way. Like all great westerns romances there is the fight not to think about the person your attracted to and the interfering circumstances from human to mother nature. Sawyer's Rose has it all in abundance. It made wonder who murdered Sawyer's father, what was keeping his heart from committing to Rose. Also the secrets Rose is keeping for why she is really in Cheyenne. Sawyer along with his 3 brothers and their friends are set against outlaw gangs and a long time family enemy. Will the McCabe's conquer their enemy or will Sawyer's and Rose's romance end before it begins. The characters are well rounded and easy to love. I'm looking forward to getting to read the next book in the McCabe family saga Wyatt's Bounty. Here is hoping the Kim Turner will give us more of the McCabes in the future. Her books are good reading if you want authentic western drama and romance.

I love the McCade family already. I can't wait to listen to the next book. If you haven't read or listened to this book, I think you should. The narration is very good.

Loved it

I’ve listened to the audio book. Love it. It’s a great story that shows how preserves can prevail. Sawyer waited for the right time to avenge his fathers death and kept ahold of his younger brothers
