The award-winning author returns to Samaria in this richly romantic tale that begins where Archangel left off. In that time, the women who craved the attention of angels were known as angel-seekers, a term used with awe by some - and scorn by others.

There are two storylines running through this book - Obadiah and Rebekah; and second, Elizabeth and Rufus.
I’ve read 3-1/2 stories in the world of Shinn’s Archangels, and this is the one that moved me the least. I was happy that Obadiah got his own story. It’s not the story, but Rebekah’s cultural background - Jansai - that shuts me down. I feel vehemently about ANY practice where another human being is valued as less. I DO appreciate the value of family expressed in the story, specifically between Rebekah and her brothers. Most of all, I value freedom of expression as a right for all to use to learn their lessons in life. Each life is precious and should be encouraged to its’ fullest. I will leave it at that.
Still, the story is well written.
The narration is good.
