About this listen

The New Zealand wilderness is no place for an innocent, young girl escaping an arranged marriage....

Shocked by the threat of being forced to marry an aging magistrate, Bliss Stafford flees her New Zealand home. But a chance encounter - and the barrel of her father's pistol - wed her to Jamie McKenna, a handsome, headstrong rancher whose bold touch inflames her innocent senses. Yet Jamie's heart is captive to another - and to a hidden, bitter sorrow. But young, courageous Bliss is determined to face the secrets of his past - to claim the radiant prize of a lifetime of tomorrows.

Passion, heartache, and the power of romance set New Zealand aflame with Angelfire in Linda Lael Miller's lush tale of a young woman audacious enough to settle for nothing less than love.

I like so many of this authors books. However, this book had characteristics and role development that never, actually developed. 3/4’s of the way through I just wanted it to be over. The female role Was absolutely awful. Sorry, Linda, but this one I just simply can’t get behind.

Female role was VERY whiny- annoyingly so and NEVER developed out of it.

Excellent book as usual by Ms. Miller! Nice to hear more narrated by Saskia Maarleveld! Excellent voice changes! If I can find more narrated by her or another excellent feminine and changing voice, will purchase!

Most stories by this author are very interesting and well written but every once in a while she goes berserk with detailed descriptions of sexual acts that she repeats over and over until the story gets lost. This was the worst one yet!

I f you removed all the sex acts there isn’t much story left.

Would you try another book from Linda Lael Miller and/or Saskia Maarleveld?

Not for awhile. I enjoyed the first book of this series but this book is obsessed with keeping the main characters in continuance sexual fantasy. I kept hoping the author would get with the story and out the bedroom

Very Boring

A story of fighting and romancing over and over and over. The treatment of the main female by the husband was too often disrespectful in front of others with her allowing him back in bed in private. It got so tedious that by the end of the story I really didn't care what happened to any of the characters.

Not A Favorite

I tried, gave it a chance, but I just could not get interested in the story. I am sure it is a good story1 just not that "catchy" for me. It just didn't hold my interest.

I have read and enjoyed this author's works for years. My favorite is her historic westerns although I enjoyed the diversion into New Zealand. However, I found as I read this story a continual anger for the way the MMC (Jamie) treated the FMC (Bliss) so I can't say I enjoyed it or would ever read it again.

In conclusion, the narrator did a good job.

Not my favorite by this author.
