Publisher's summary

Best-selling author Linda Lael Miller sets hearts racing with her pulse-pounding tales of the Montana Creeds. Listeners have thrilled to the stories of the Creed brothers, as rugged and complex as the Montana landscape. And for A Creed in Stone Creek, Miller outdoes herself with a work as wholly winning and addictive as the Creeds themselves.

A satisfying end to the O'Ballivan series

It wasn't the best of the Stone Creek stories, but it tied up loose ends very nicely and Jack Garrett did a fine job with the narration.

I was a bit disappointed not to have a more in depth (and longer) lead up to the end, but all in all, this is a book I've listened to twice, and will again.

THOSE CREED MEN KEEP HANGING IN THERE!

Would you try another book from Linda Lael Miller and/or Jack Garrett?

If I see a book from Linda Lael Miller with narration by Jack Garrett, there is never a question that I will snap it up as soon as possible. I have now listened to "A Creed in Stone Creek" and I have read it. Both were fantastic, but narration by Jack Garrett, lets you feel like you almost know them.

If you’ve listened to books by Linda Lael Miller before, how does this one compare?

This is in the top 10 of my Linda Lael Miller books.

What does Jack Garrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jack Garrett gives the characters life.

Could you see A Creed in Stone Creek being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I think it would make an excellant TV movie with Justin Timberlake playing the lead.

Injustice to the author

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes I would change the voice. There is nothing wrong with the reader's style but he sounds much older than the Creed men. He would be great performing a David Baldacci book like Stone Cold because the character is older. There was just too much of an age difference in him so it took a lot away from another of Linda Lael Miller's great story lines. I'm sorry but it kept making me mad because I had a hard time visualizing the handsome young cowboy. I'll buy the other Creed books from book story and read it the traditional way.

What other book might you compare A Creed in Stone Creek to and why?

None

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jack Garrett?

Mel Foster or Laurel Merlington

Didn't do it for me...

I usually LOVE stories by LLM and can't wait to read the next installment in a series. This book had all the elements of her usually wonderful stoires, but it just kind of fell flat. I couldn't really connect with any of the characters, which is rare for me. Part of the allure of a series is that you stay engaged with the characters, but this book just felt disconnected. If you are not a fan of the series, you'll probably enjoy this story. However, as a long-time fan of the McKettrick/Creed clans, I was a bit disappointed.

Not her best but it was okay

It was okay did not think it was her best work but was her worst. The characters seem a little mundane.

Inconsistencies

The stories are pretty good. I love finding all the inconsistencies in the story line. All her books have several, it is like hunting for Easter eggs.

Twins

Great book. The love of family however born into or adopted. The dogs that are a good judge of character. The second chances when given a chance. Family always watching out for each other h other.

Lots of variety in this one!

I liked the different characters with all their diverse personalities and backgrounds. It was a really interesting blend of romance, family drama, mystery, crime and it was all tied together in the end. This author has consistently favored blonde men…yuk but also has some great favorites of dogs and most other animals and I love the stories best of the old west as this author has a great deal of knowledge on it.
