What a beautiful story!! I loved all the little side stories and romances in Anne's life, especially the romance with Philippa. I wrote down a couple of quotes from the story too because they were so lovely and captivating. Highly recommend this audio book of "Anne of the Island". Someone mentioned that a younger voice narrator makes a difference, especially when the characters are about 20 years old, and I whole-heartedly agree. Listening to this version was a wonderful experience. P.S. - And If you would like to know, Davy was absolutely my favorite !

Highly Recommended ~ <3

I was sad Rachel McAdams only did one Anne book until I found Karen Savage. It takes a young voice to make Anne sound believable and she has it down. Hoping she does all of the Anne books available.

my favorite narrator of all the Anne books

If I can't have Rachel McAdams, Karen Savage will do quite nicely. The audio quality isn't the best, but unless it's perfectly quiet, you can't really tell. Her voice is a million times better than any of the older ladies. it was nice to have Anne sound 17-20 again, versus 40. It made a huge difference. And she read at quite a normal pace, so the speed didn't need adjustment to feel perfect.

Lovely young voice, perfect Anne.

Anne is a childhood kindred spirit. Now that the world is in so much turmoil, revisiting these childhood favorites has been comforting and brought me a sense of peace. I feel the narrator does a lovely job and has the perfect voice, inflection, and cadence to bring the books to life. I prefer when the narrator leaves room for some scope for imagination and doesn't overpower the characters or my own daydreams and Karen Savage does that wonderfully.

Wonderful story with a fantastic narrator

The author continues Anne’s story with the same loveliness found in the first book. I believe the narrator can make or break a perfectly good book, and Karen Savage definitely made this one worth listening to!

Another lovely story!

Anne Shirley is a girl after LMM’s heart, and that Anne needed to come to terms with her orphanhood and see what she was losing before she could have realistic dreams of her future and know herself. Also I just can’t believe how much the movies skipped and invented and for no good reason! Anyhow bravo to this reader. I hope she has done the rest of them!

Love her girlish voice and this love story
