About this listen

At the end of Not a Day Goes By, the terminally bisexual John Basil Henderson declares: “I’m back, in full form. And I’m out there. Roamin’. And switching lanes.” Now, in Any Way the Wind Blows, Basil, good-looking gadabout and homme fatal, is back at the top of his game (razzle-dazzling both the women and the men). All is well until Basil’s picture-perfect life starts to unravel . . . Left at the altar a year before, jilted Broadway bombshell Yancey Harrington Braxton stages her comeback–this time as a recording star–but has she forgiven ex-fiancé Basil, or does she still need to even the score? As Yancey’s star continues to rise, her past threatens to catch up with her and she fears someone may be after her as well . . .

In a wicked little dance of revenge, Basil and Yancey struggle to keep their lives on track, while a chorus of unforgettable characters either come to their aid, or make matters worse. In the mix are: Yancey’s mother, Ava “Mama Dearest” Braxton, a diva’s diva and a second-rate showgirl housed in the body of an aging supermodel; the wise and wonderful Windsor Adams; and the new guy in town, Bartholomew “Bart” Dunbar, a rogue’s rogue and handsome hunk of a man who stands to make Basil look like a choirboy.

With just the right amount of wickedness, love, and compassion, Harris’s masterful storytelling and delicious plot twists will have fans and newcomers alike frantically turning pages trying to find the answer to the ultimate question: Does revenge ever really pay?

A trip you want to stay on!

This story was told with such imagery and detail that you can see it playing out character by character, place by place, as you listen. Once you start, you won’t stop until you get to then end and then you want more. The story is fulfilling, and the ending was perfect but the characters pull you in so deeply that you want to know what’s next in their lives. This is an excellent read and I can’t suggest reading/listening to E. Lynn Harris’ novels more!

Do good to others so good will come to you

Yancey and Basil are back, this story is the second part of their lives after the canceled wedding. Now Yancey is a new rising solo singing artist signed to Motown and living in LA and Basil is still a competitive sports agent in New York. We get introduced to a new character Bart Dunbar an obsessive scheming waiter/model/actor. Bart actually crosses both passes of Basil and Yancey, first he meets Basil at his office when he goes there to try and get a modeling gig for the agency, after 2 very heated sexual encounters Basil dismisses Bart like he does to everyone, but Bart is not having that he wants something more and now he is on a mission to show Mr. Basil that he is not to be used for sex and then dismissed. At the same time Bart gets the leading part to be in Yancey's new video for her hit single "any way the wind blows". I must say that all three characters do have a lot going on in their lives right now but it seems like somehow all the issues are linked together in some form or fashion. Yancey is getting some disturbing threatening letters about the child she gave up a long time ago that she has been keeping secret, and Basil is getting some disturbing threatening emails about him getting ousted as a man on the downlow. This is was has me sucked into this book the mystery behind who is threatening both Basil and Yancey at the same time about the biggest secrets they both have hidden for all these years.

I love Basil and Yancey!

Another great book by E. Lynn Harris. Basil is still trying to keep a secret & live his life. While Yancey wants fame & success by any means necessary. Will her lies catch up to her? Will she get everytime she wants? What will Basil do to protect his secret? All these questions are answered in this book.

Good read

The story was pretty good and helps you realize the difference between men and woman. One thing that I can say is what people do in the dark come to lite each and every time. The characters were pictured very well and their roles in the story were well developed. I loved listening to this book and trying to find out what would happen and if they would find out the truth about Basil.
