Interesting story! Great performers!

The description of the book was intriguing so I purchased. I enjoyed the story even though it was totally crazy. I don’t think a woman would just accept the fact that a professional assassin was in her life and she wasn’t scared to death. Also I don’t believe someone who murders for hire turned into such a loving and nice guy in a few weeks. And I definitely feel his employer would not allow his assassin walk away free or anyone else close to him. Bottom line, it’s a fictional story so I decided to accept that fact and continue reading. I must admit I like the author’s imagination and I plan on reading another book written by her. I gave the book four stars because I did enjoy the characters. The performers did an excellent job bringing the story to life. I recommend you read, but be prepared for a totally unbelievable story.

3.5 ⭐️.. A LIGHT, LOW-ANGST CHICK LIT ROMANCE

A pleasant easy-going romance that starts off with clashes and barbed banter on a flight which continues in the hotel.. but soon the bubbly brunette and the dark, moody, tattooed Assassin can’t deny their attraction and chemistry any longer so have one dinner date where they finally clicked. And these two would be the perfect fit for each other (especially coming from the same hometown).. but Ryder is conflicted - until he gets back home. So, will he choose the job he’s become jaded about or will he take a chance on love with Emma?.. and how will he break the news about just what he’s been doing for a living?

Worth a credit? If your looking for an easy, light, fairly short, stress-free listen then yes. There was verbal friction when they meet for the first, second and third time.. and Ryder and Emma took their time dating and getting to know each other before any sex.. plus their relationship ‘pothole’ took time to repair too. Ryder really wasn’t arrogant for long and Emma is all heart. There was also good dynamics with Emma’s two best friends.. and all the animal antics were sweet. The dual POV narration was good.

Easy going romance

I enjoyed the story here. However a man with Ryder's profession I don't feel would be able to walk away the way he did without any issues. Dual narration isn't my favorite style. It's hard to get into the book when the female trying to do a mans voice sounds more like a 12 year old boy. On that note, hearing Troy "baaa" like a goat multiple times was the best thing ever!! I laughed so hard, he did a great job.

Arrogant Assassin

My first book📚🎧from this author and it was okay…I’m a huge fan of Troy Duran’s voice🫦it’s just perfect! Ms Mitchell was too whiny for my taste but it was just ok. The storyline was also just okay the only thing that kept me going to complete the book was Troys voice.💋 Is it worth the credit? It’s a maybe 🤔 I did it because of Troy’s voice, if it wasn’t because of his narration I would say no.

Good story

Good story! The characters are nice. I liked the addition of Brownie. Pretty sure that was my favorite thing about this. The ending is extra sweet. I did listen to this in audio. Listening to Mr Duran “Baa” was awesome!

Crass, immature and unbelievable

Crass
Their meet cute moments are Emma spilling her drink on him, falling down drunk in front of his hotel room, and splashing into him in the pool … because who doesn’t like a rude and crude party girl?
The F bombs drop constantly and for no meaningful reason.

Immature
They conveniently hail from the same California town, where they bond over cutesy-wootsy animals with sugary names like Brownie, KitKat and Peanut. He shows up unannounced at her work and her house, and then even buys her a massively expensive gift when they are broken up … because healthy adults woo each other with manipulation and guilt trips.

Unbelievable
I get that this is romance, but the story should have some basis in reality. The assassin plot is nonsensical (he only kills bad guys for his uncle). The sex scene has him ready to go seconds after coming. They each profess their insta-love and yet she won’t even listen to his explanation about his job.
