About this listen

USA Today best-selling author Ward Larsen's globe-trotting, hard-hitting assassin, David Slaton, returns for another breathless adventure!

In a Syrian palace, the presidents of Russia and Iran undertake a clandestine meeting. No staff or advisors are permitted in the room. No records are kept. By necessity, however, there are two witnesses: the interpreters. The Russian, Ludmilla Kravchuk, returns to her hotel room burdened by what she has heard. When her Iranian counterpart is murdered before her eyes, Kravchuk fears she is next and goes into hiding in Syria.

The CIA gets word of the defection. Desperate to uncover the purpose of the meeting, they task their newest off-the-books operator - legendary assassin David Slaton - to undertake a daring rescue. Deep inside Syria’s war-torn borders, what Slaton finds is a plot that will tear the Middle East apart. And one that only he can stop.

Another fantastic adventure

I really love listening to David’s adventures and his thinking of what to do next. The characters are really neat to ‘get to know’. And P.J.s narrative of it makes it all come to life so much more. I listen to my collection of these books many times. Like visiting with friends. Much better than tv or movies. Though these would make a good movie. Especially the drones.

Absolutely fantastic!

These consistently get better and better. Extremely well done, narration is spectacular! First rate in writing and reading. The only criticism I can think of is having to wait for the next one!

Amazing extraction

I love these assassin series by Ward Larson. Each story is exciting from start to finish. PJ Ochlan is an exceptional narrator. His skill with foreign accents is incredible.
The protagonist, David Slaton is a houdini and his feats of carrying out his spy missions are somewhat unbelievable, but with each adventure you will be rooting for his success. In this adventure David is sent to extract an interpreter from a dangerous area.
How he does it is incredible. The characters in this story are endearing and brave. You'll root for their safety as they follow David through dangerous territory. Great story look forward to the next one.

Very Entertaining

I have read all of Ward Larsen's David Slaton books and found them all to be well written fast moving and hard to put down. Ward is one of a few people that does an excellent job of thriller books on a consistent basis like Tom Wood, Mark Greaney, Gregg Hurwitz, Alex Berenson, and a few others. I think the Amazon ratings for this book are not that accurate as I would give it a 4.8 or 4.9 rating and not a 4.5. Don't hesitate to read this book, it is great and the narrator for the audible book also does an excellent job.

Fun Read!

Good pace, story and action. Another great adventure from Ward Larsen. Looking forward to the next one. However, considering the Hamas attack on Israel a couple days ago- the west’s intelligence services certainly aren’t as effective in real life….

Predicable

The story was predictable and the narrator was weak and uninteresting. I will not purchase the next book in the series.
