About this listen

Olson lives in a city that has been sealed from the outside world. He's an Eleven Year and close to citizenship. His life is upended when one of the few adults who cares about him commits suicide - or so it appears at first. While investigating, Olson meets a girl named Natalie snooping around his school. He soon learns that one of her friends died under similarly mysterious circumstances. Together, they start looking for answers, and end up discovering the city's darkest secrets.

Great dystopian novel. Definitely young adult (which is fine for me). The book demonstrates differences in class and how these classes are treated. There are implications of human test tube/breeding. Nice ending and I look forward to the next book. The narrator was good and I enjoyed listening to Mike. I can't say that for all of the audible narrators. If you like young adult, dystopian, and some genetic/SciFi, you should enjoy this audiobook.

Is everyone a Clone?

A well-written dystopian novel that will have you rethinking everything you think you know.

Olson is a young man who starts to question things after the supposed suicide of his favorite teacher, Duncan. Then when he meets Natalie, a young woman from Above, he really begins to wonder. I enjoyed discovering the hidden aspects of this world as Olson discovered them. It made the story unfold in a realistic and very disturbing way.

The characters are well-developed, the story is fast paced, and the world building is great. It does end on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to want to continue the series!

The narrator does a very good job and added a lot to my enjoyment of the book. I was given the chance to listen to this book by the author and chose to review it.

makes you worry

it's scary how easily the events in this book could happen. the things they do to create the city and then the lies they tell to maintain the status quo are just scary. looking forward to the sequel, and seeing if things get better or worse. There is no adult content.
