About this listen

An analysis of the relationship between attachment and dissociation, written by a survivor of extreme trauma. Not meant to be a complete treatise, but a discussion of some crucial points that link early attachment injuries and dissociative tendencies - both in parents, and in turn, in their children. Includes the author's story of recovering from an attachment disorder and thoughts on ways that others can do the same. This was extremely helpful for anyone on the trauma spectrum, even if they fall short of a true dissociative disorder as they are currently classified. I think in time Boderline will be considered a dissociative disorder as well clinically.

Excellent analysis of disorganized attachment and relationship to dissociation

Don't let the virtual voice recording dissuade you. This quick listen is actually an excellent little audiobook. It will help you to connect the dots on attachment and caregiving disorders. Especially, when they are combined within the same relationship. This one person's personal introspections on their own journey can help clarify complex relationship issues, even for therapists. I would recommend this book for everyone, even if they are without the subject issues. It may even help you to understand those around you in ways you hadn't thought about.

A Wonderful Quick Listen

I have to say this is one of the best books I have read on trauma, multiplicity, dissociation, and healing. The other has a way of describing her attachment pain that is so moving and also really helps one understand the horrific pain.

I love that this is a book that includes healing and that healing is something attainable for all people who suffer with the after effects of trauma. I also looked up this author and what she has done beyond this book and I really admire how she has taken her trauma and turned it into helping others in myriad ways.

As a therapist, I will recommend this book to anyone I encounter who suffers similar trauma reactions, and pain. I plan to listen to this book a second time.

Excellent Account of not only the pain, but the healing

Nope. No. Uh-uh. What is this?! Very arrogant view of nothing. One star. I do not recommend downloading the book.
