About this listen

The book of Revelation says that half of the world’s population is going to be wiped out. At current numbers, that means three or four billion people will die. Imagine most of the world’s great cities destroyed, their shiny skyscrapers reduced to piles of smouldering rubble. And all this happens in the book of Revelation before we even get to the battle of Armageddon.

Before that, Revelation says there is going to be a one-world government headed by Antichrist. No one will be able to buy or sell without having the ‘mark of the beast’ (666) on their right hand or forehead. Those who won’t worship Antichrist will be put to death.

But today, many Christians are confused or have questions about the end-times:

  • Are we meant to understand the book of Revelation literally?
  • Is there going to be a one-world government?
  • Will there be a literal Antichrist?
  • Are we heading for Armageddon?
  • Is the church going to be taken out of this world before all these events happen?

To help us understand what the Bible really foretells about the end of the world, and help us navigate the difficult questions surrounding Bible prophecy, Andrew Wilson uses an introductory parable: a detective story. He shows that there are four big clues in the Bible that help us understand the future. If we focus on solving these four clues, all the swirling mists of confusion disappear and the evidence lines up to point to one clear answer to the puzzle of future events.

In this full-length exploration of Bible prophecy, all the major passages in the Old and New Testaments dealing with future events are explained, leading to a satisfying, faith-strengthening and hope-filled understanding of what is going to happen at the end of the world.

REVIEW
I have just finished reading Andrew Wilson's book on Biblical prophecy, entitled "THE END OF THE WORLD". It was gripping from the start and I found myself saying over and over again, "I never saw that before - it's so logical." Andrew brings together the clear outcome of analyzing scripture in its context, relating it to the passage from which it comes in both Old and New Testaments. He draws frequently from scholars of his own persuasion and from those of a wide range of opinions, quoting them and then showing where they are accurate in their interpretation, or alternately where they have erred or been blinded by their preconceived ideas. I was amazed at the extensive references and quotes from all viewpoints and no one is spared; but where they are deemed to have misinterpreted scripture they are graciously demolished. Andrew's reading of history, theology and biography has been extensive and he has detailed these references in valuable footnotes. I must say that it took a concerted effort on my part to get through its nearly 500 pages in a month or more of spare time reading. I've ordered extra copies for my friends and foes in the theological debate; all with a view to coming to a mutually agreed anticipation of the Lord's coming and our meeting together in His presence. I heartily recommend to all who are looking for the up-taker rather than the undertaker.
