About this listen

Scorching-hot summer. Scorching-hot chemistry. Two teens can’t forget they’re just friends in this sweet, funny, electrifying romance from New York Times bestselling author Tia Williams. Perfect for fans of Jenny Han and Nicola Yoon.

MEET AUDRE. Junior class president. Debate team captain. Unofficial student therapist. Desperately in need of a good time.

MEET BASH. Mysterious new senior. Everybody’s crush. Tall, floppy, great taste in jewelry. King of having a good time.

It’s the last day of school at Cheshire Prep, Brooklyn’s elite academy—and Audre Mercy-Moore’s life is a mess. Her dad cancelled her annual summer visit to his Malibu beach house. Now? She’s stuck in a claustrophobic apartment with her mom, stepdad, and one-year-old sister (aka the Goblin Baby).

Under these conditions, she’ll never finish writing her self-help book—ie, the key to winning over Stanford’s admissions board.

Cut to Bash Henry! Audre hires him to be her “fun consultant.” His job? To help her complete the Experience Challenge—her list of five wild dares designed to give her juicy book material. She’ll get inspo; he’ll get paid. Everybody wins.

He isn’t boyfriend material. And she’s not looking for one. Can they stay professional despite their obvious connection?

Fun fact: Audre Mercy-Moore first appeared in the New York Times bestseller Seven Days in June and now stars in her own story!

I love Tia”s writing and this book didn’t disappoint. This story resonated with me even though its focus is on young lovers. The family dynamic and the fact that it was a continuation from another story made it even better.
Narrators were also great.

Love is love!

It’s funny to me that this is clearly an African American young love story however if you decide to listen to the book as I did you will be disappointed because these are the whitest sounding voices ever so they don’t go with the story being told. Complete mismatch.

The voice talent selection

The only thing I disliked had nothing to do with the writing but everything to do with the narration of Reshma’s accent. It was horrible! But I totally loved everything else! She did perfect with Audre’s voice but Eva’s kinda was bad too. Again the storyline was perfect and Tia Williams so is your writing!

This book and Audible were amazing.
I like how this Audible was done. The male and female reading for the respective roles instead of having the woman reading male parts. and the text message interaction was a great touch. 5 🌟 all the way around.
I loved Audre in 7 days of June and love her here. Bash was the sweetest 😭. Eva got on my nerves in this one. Shane was still as amazing as ever. I need another book on Audre and Bash and a TV show.

I don't normally read YA books

It was a great and interesting story. I loved that it was a continuation of Seven Days in June. I thought that since it was about Audra, the teenager it might not be as interesting for me, but I was definitely wrong. Like each Tia Williams book I’ve read this one was great! I looked forward to listening to it and really enjoyed the new characters. Definitely recommend for anyone who is a fan of Tia Williams.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would

I loved the storyline, the characters, and the flow of each chapter. Audre and Bash are adorable. My only frustration (aside from the voices/accents) wasn't with the story itself, but how the voice actor kept incorrectly pronouncing Genevieve despite the authors deliberate clarification of the pronunciation in 7 Day in June. It kept throwing me off.

Another great story by Tia Williams!
