Publisher's summary

On doctor's orders, Bertie Wooster retires to sample the bucolic delights of Maiden Eggesford. But his idyll is rudely shattered by Aunt Dahlia who wants him to nobble a racehorse. Similar blots on Bertie's horizon come in the shape of Major Plank, the African explorer, Vanessa Cook, proud beauty and "molder of men," and Orlo Porter who seems to have nothing else to do but think of sundering Bertie's head from his body.

Classic Bertie and Jeeves

My father was a huge fan of P.G. Wodehouse. When I find myself missing him and his English humor the most, I fill up on some of dad’s favorites and it’s such a comfort and joy to me to laugh and remember my father sitting in his favorite corner of the couch with his Wodehouse book in hand chuckling quietly….. Thank you, Audible.

Another fun listen!

P. J. Wodehouse and Jonathan Cecil are a sure bet! This tale of a horse races, a cat and an aunt told by Wodehouse in the voice of Cecil make me want to put on the headphones, start the vacuum and get going on the housework a smile on my face ( or: an “s” on my “f”, as Wooster would put it)!
Such fun!

Classic Berty

Jonathan Cecil's my favorite reader for Jeeves and Wooster. This story is a bit similar to many of the other books but still very enjoyable!

Entertaining narration

Story was quite wacko but the use of language is great and the narrator was spot on. Cecil’s voice makes the twatter very entertaining.

Whimsical and witty

Surprisingly good from start to end. Packed full of humor, great characters, whimsical slapstick and witty banter. Excellently performed by Jonathan Cecil. Also manages to provide some deeper insights into humanity while being irreverent but intellectually honest. Certainly going to look for more PG Wodehouse.

Funny and well narrated

This was a fun Wooster story and it is always made more enjoyable by the Narrator! He has just the right cadence and style to suit these stories! Very fun to listen to and get a chuckle when you need one!
