About this listen

Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

Worth your time, great audible.
I’m a fan of the author’s writing style. Content seem to coincide with other texts that I’ve read but just a little. I’m not an Aztec scholar so that statement is probably mute. It would be wonderful if those works referenced in this work were readily available. Author seems authoritative so there’s that. Overall a good short book to read.

Good Book Horrible Narrative Pronunciation
The book itself it is interesting and educational
The pronunciation on person reading the book is horrible. She pronounces “Quezalcotl” instead of “Quetzalcoatl” and many other words
Please when narrating books on different languages , my advice is to hire a native person to read the book instead of someone that “knows” the language.
I couldn’t finish the book, it upset me too much

A through guide to learn AZTECA.
A tremendous amount of research material is referenced. I am continually shocked at how the history of this nation was disregarded by the Spanish. Need a bit more which I already covered in this book .

Decepcionante

Simply amazing audible.
This audible is simply amazing that this measure of such a multifaceted, relatively unknown and misinterpreted history has been so knowledgeably condensed! This definitely is your go-to overview of the Aztecs. you are definitely going to need some experience in ancient/modern Mexican Language pronunciations, and a basic awareness of the overlapping/intertwining of Mexican/Spanish/Native American History to sail through this one -- but it is well worth it.

The Aztecs were an amazing culture.
The Aztecs were an amazing culture, ferocious but practical. I particular like the nugget you will find on the Mexican flag. Their Military Religious Complex may very well outlive our Military Industrial Complex. Sorry, but this one was more work than pleasure to read, but the last third still makes this a good Aztec refresher worthwhile & increased the rating by a couple stars. Even though I have a fairly negative review of this particular book, I highly recommend these One Hour History series.
