About this listen

Unlock the hidden potential of your psyche with The Kabbalah of You: Mind, Mysticism, and the Evolution of Self, a groundbreaking introduction to Jewish mysticism and its profound implications for personal growth, mental health, and spiritual development. Drawing from the ancient wisdom of Kabbalah, this book presents a unique "map" of the human psyche, offering readers practical tools for self-repair, transformation, and a path to inner harmony.

In this guide, Annette Poizner introduces the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life as a framework to understand the essential facets of the Self. Through the lens of this mystical model, we learn how the 22 attributes of human consciousness—representing traits, strengths, and challenges—can be balanced and cultivated for optimal mental health. The book integrates traditional Kabbalistic teachings with modern psychological concepts, such as the work of Dr. Martin Seligman’s Positive Psychology or the ideas of C.G. Jung, providing a holistic approach to healing and self-actualization.

The author, an experienced therapist, draws upon years of professional practice and personal exploration to demonstrate how the Tree of Life can be used to guide individuals in their quest for growth. By weaving together Kabbalistic wisdom with insights from Eastern philosophy, the book introduces a top down view of self-awareness providing a window into the masculine and feminine dimensions of the psyche and proposing strategies for activating hidden energies.

As a therapist and educator, the author has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of integrating spiritual models of the psyche into mental health practice. This book goes beyond the pathology and diagnosis frame of mainstream psychology, advocating for a resource-based, character-building approach that emphasizes the development of inner virtues rather than simply treating symptoms.

Whether you are looking to improve your emotional well-being, deepen your spiritual practice, or gain a deeper understanding of yourself, The Kabbalah of You introduces a path to personal evolution based on classic wisdom, Explore the beams and pillars that underpin the psyche in health and learn ways you can balance the forces within, activate dormant aspects of your personality, and lead a more full-bodied and purposeful life.
