About this listen
If Erin Banks has a moral code, you’d need an Enigma machine to crack it.
So it’s no surprise when she signs a contract with the city’s most powerful crime syndicate, the Galoffi family; an incestuous brother and sister who run their operation as man and wife.
The crown prince of the Galoffi family has been kidnapped, and Erin is tasked with getting him back. The only problem: the list of potential suspects is longer than a polar night, and body parts are already showing up in the mail.
Someone snatched the heir to the Galoffi fortune, and whoever they are, whatever they are, they’re not asking for ransom money. So why did they do it, and what do they want in return?
There’s something else bothering Erin too, and it’s the reason she took the job in the first place. The eye-witness description of the kidnapper is a match for the mysterious Red-Eyed Man who stole away her baby brother.
Is this it? Is Erin finally about to find out what happened to her missing brother, and if she does, will she be able to live with the truth?
Magic, scares, and acid-tongued snark collide in this thrilling urban fantasy series set in the Uncanny Kingdom. Buried secrets and whiplash twists will keep you riding the edge of your seat. Listen to Bad Blood now for a pulse-pounding tale you won’t be able to hit pause on.

Promises, rules, bones; Erin Banks will break them all. Unscrupulous and lethal, Erin has everything she needs to be an assassin in a world full of mobsters, monsters, and magic. She wasn’t born with powers, but thanks to her Uncanny Ink - arcane tattoos that transform her body into a magic-fueled killing machine - she’s more than a match for anyone dumb enough to stand between her and getting paid. Fresh out of prison, Erin wastes no time getting back to what she does best: running down wanted men and claiming their bounties.

Story
When Jake Fletcher died, he discovered a horrible truth: the method he was using to send souls to the afterlife wasn’t sending them to a better place.... It was obliterating them. To atone for his mortal sins, he becomes a spectral detective, a phantom PI who helps restless spirits depart the earthly plane by bringing their killers to justice. His latest job is no open-and-shut case though. The ghost of a dead woman needs his help to pass on to the other side, but for that to happen, Jake will have to defeat a demon.

The faces of hose filing past us in an almost zombie-like stupor, numb to the horrors of everyday life or driven to madness by the pain and agony of modern-day existence - and those are the people who aren't zombies or monsters! Story
From the pulpy pages of Black Mask Magazine in the 1920s and '30s, through the film noir era of the 1940s, to today, noir fiction has lured many a reader and movie-goer away from the light and into the dark underbelly of society. Names such as Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, and James M. Cain; titles like The Big Sleep, The Maltese Falcon, The Postman Always Rings Twice...these have inhabited our collective consciousness for decades. Humanity, it seems, loves the dark. And within the dark, one figure stands out: that of the femme fatale.

Liked it even more than book 1!
I really enjoyed this book. The same humor and action that you can always find in this series were there, plus it somehow felt deeper. Also, the one thing that annoyed me in book 1 (the main character's constant lusting over guys) didn't find its way to the second book, so even better! The ending was amazing too.

Excellent story
Great second installment to this series! I love the humor that the authors bring to the story, and the bad ass female lead. The narrator did a fantastic job on this! I’m not good at writing reviews so I leave it to the other reviewers to tell you what happened in this story. I will say that the main bad guy was wildly messed up in the head… if you listen, you’ll see!

Good set up
This was just a fun setup for a next book. The story line was not the most cohesive, but definitely made you feel like some of the characters had history you wanted to know about. Recommend
