Nora says she's happy.
Dagesh isn't so sure. He loves his pretty human mate and wants nothing more than to bring a smile to her face...so she'll go running into his arms. When he asks the tribe what she's missing, someone suggests a wedding.
All right, then.
He'll throw the best barbarian wedding ever.
So how does Nora tell her determined, thoughtful mate that what she wanted wasn't a wedding...but something a little different in bed?
Contains mature themes.

It also crossed my mind that the author might have personal issues with her partner in the bedroom given the plots in the last few books. This one centered around not meeting one another's expectations in the bedroom. I personally, as I've mentioned before in my review of the other book, don't want to listen to a romance that is the same as my 40-year old friend who settled and married someone she didn't like and now I have to listen to her romantic issues. There is nothing romantic about that. It's like you settled and no amount of aromatherapy or silk sheets are going to change that fact.
If I were speaking from a biological perspective (which shouldn't be crazy because this is science fiction romance) the resonance the parasite that is would have quashed whatever sexual differences the two had to make resonance a complete success (as in the earlier books) most likely through pheromones (these hormones work with humans too, you never liked a brown-haired person then suddenly he's the sexiest man you've ever seen). The narration was great and they didn't sound bored with this one.
Wouldn't Resonance Have Solved That?

Within the IPB universe, this is one of the sweetest MF relationships. I loved how this story touched on mismatched intimacy, how to communicate what each other needs, and I thought it was so sweet how Dagesh tries to secretly figure out what is bothering Nora so he can fix it.
Small spoiler - I absolutely adored how Ruby wrote Dagesh's conversation about consent.
This was an audio read for me and Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd always nail the narration.
Adorable blue alien wedding

Ms. Dixon holds a magnifying glass up to these Blue Barbarians and humans and the picture clearly shows that the most important things in life are the same everywhere.
Again, the narrators, Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd, are really, really good. Jackson has a huge range and a different voice for every character. She’s amazing.
I waited forever for this audio book and it was well worth it. I just finished it and I’m going to listen to it again. Now.
Make sure you read or listen in the right order. I’ve got my favorites but they’re all great.
Another huge step forward on the Ice Planet!
