About this listen

It should have been a one-night stand.

I never intended to seduce Taushen, but things happened. I don't dwell on the past and while it was great, I'm not looking for a relationship. Of course, try telling that to Taushen. The big blue alien's in love after one night, and it's making things darn awkward. We've got bigger problems than whether or not I'm his woman, like the "cargo" of the spaceship that landed here.

But Taushen's not giving up. He thinks I'm his mate.

And he'll do anything to keep me.

Contains mature themes.

Love these books!! 🥳❤

First, let me say I'm sorry that this is so my first post. 😔 I didn't understand for a long time why these reviews are so important. Now that I do I will be doing one on each book I read!
I've read every book in this series including slices of life and I still can't wait for the next one!! lol The snowy world that's Ruby Dixon has created is awesome as well! Mostly I've fallen in love with these people! The females with their diff personalities, the BABIES! I'm sucker for pregnancy and babies! This has it all!! I never would've thought a big blue alien with a tail could be a sexy, gentle giant and make me wish I was there!! (b.t.w. I HATE the 🥶🧊 lol)

Taushen & Brooke

I really needed to jump back into the sweet world of IPB after I read a super dark romance. These are my comfort reads. This book shows what happened to the group that got captured by slave traders in the previous book. Taushen and Brooke had a one-night stand during the capture and now things are awkward between them since Brooke thought it was just a one-time thing. They end up going on a trip away from the group after Brooke wanted them to just be friends. They bond over games, and they really get to know each other. Their chemistry cannot be denied for long though. It was great to see Taushen finally find a mate.

birds eye view

I continually find myself pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy Ruby Dixon's genre of books, particularly the Ice Home and Ice Planet stories. Even when read out of order, they offer a fascinating puzzle as you piece together the interconnected events. It's quite intriguing to gain that bird's-eye perspective. These books are not only concise and enjoyable but also benefit from talented narrators who are excellent voice actors.

The voice actors are amazing as usual!

I didn’t like Brooke particularly. This one wasn’t my favorite. But I loved the story Ruby Dixon writes and the voice actors were great. But again, I couldn’t stand Brooke. She was a bit of a brat, she feigned innocence when she didn’t get her way, and even though she did try her best to keep the pairs together when they separated, I don’t see her winning anyone’s favor back. And the even though she was drugged, she didn’t treat the situation with taishen (?) right. If he hadn’t kidnapped her, I don’t see her changing at all and giving it a chance with him. There were better books in my opinion, but I can’t wait to see the story progress in the next one.

Another good instalment in the series.

This is book 15 in the ICE PLANET BARBARIAN SERIES and while each story stands alone, I recommend they be read in order.

Slavers disembark from a spaceship and capture beloved members of the Sa-Khui tribe including alien men, human women, and children. Taushen and Brooke are among the abductees. Their experience while kidnapped is unique and very well described. It is the catalyst for their animosity after they are rescued and leads to a delicious enemies to lovers feel to the story.

Taushen is one of the few males in the Sa-Khui tribe who remains unmated even though multiple women have joined his community. He is part desperation, part innocence, part lonely. His verbal tussles with Brooke are the fuel that flames their romance. Taushen expresses himself to Brooke in a way that is heartfelt and beautiful – I was very moved. It was a highlight of the story for me. I enjoyed experiencing their love story.

I am loving this series. It has been a welcome and unexpected boost to my romance listening enjoyment. Not a dull moment. Where to next?

Audible narrators Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

I recommend this series.

This series is the best

This series is soo good, and in this book there's a grown up Taushen and see his relationship develop and the struggles of this village.
Highly recommended.

Prequel to Icehome series

I had no idea this book would tie in so directly to the Icehome series so I glad I decided to listen to it. I also found Brook to be way more likeable than I expected.

I've always skipped around with these Ice Barbarian book and Icehome was actually my first foray into this romance universe so this was a fun surprise for me to finally hear how the beach settlement kicked off.

as for this story, it was one of the better ones and honestly really enjoyed the low drama.
