About this listen

When Master Vampire Lucien Delgatto threatens her potential mate Wick's life, shapeshifter Andrea "Andy" McNeilly will employ a den of witches, a bedazzled thong, and her ability to shift into multiple animals to meet his demands. She plans to keep Wick safe - even if she's not speaking to him. Lucien's unwelcome control over Wick's life has thrown Andy into a whirlwind of emotions. Though Wick vows to do whatever it takes to earn Andy's forgiveness and win back her trust, it may be too late.

This recent conflict awakens something within Andy, an animal she's never learned to control. For hidden beneath all her forms is a beast whose anger and brutality rivals none. And she's pissed.

Even better than the first

this book picks up where book 1 left off. Poor Andy she tried to pay her debt to the Lucien, the master vampire that she was assigned to kill his human. Being the way Lucien is, he decided she did not fulfill her duty. Now he has made her a human servant to him. There are humans that are possessed but not by demons attacking groups of supernaturals. Including Wicks pack, Tristens pride and Luciens vamps. Andy is tasked with finding out who is behind these attacks. Also she begins learning more and more about herself and her shifter abilities. She is also confused about who she want as a mate, Wick or Tristen. who will she pick. Will she ever be free of Lucien? Even though Clint is disgusting, i love the banter between the two. Also the connection with Allen. I receive this audio book free for an honest review. I look forward to reading the rest of these books

More butt kicking than the first

I read the first book in the series and the second book is a nice continuation. The main character kicks butt and shows she's not a victim. The story was nice and fast paced, holding my attention the entire time. I like the dialog with how the characters interact with each other.

The narrator is the same from the first book and I thought she was a good choice. She does the male characters very well.

Absolutely love

I was so excited to see this available. The narrator does a great job pulling you into the story and deciphering between all the characters. I like that it isn't you normal shifter book and Andy will keep you smiling. I was given this book in exchange for my honest review

Beast Coast: A Carus Novel

What did you like best about Beast Coast? What did you like least?

I loved the continuation of the story.

Andy and Wick both need to come to terms with what happened in book1 in the series.

I enjoyed the old and new characters. Andy's struggle with her past. Wick's regret over his decision etc.

What I most enjoyed, was that among the drama and action there was also humor (paintball!!).

I love stories that combine all those elements. And we get to see Andy the woman and not just Andy the assassin.

Would you recommend Beast Coast to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes.

Its a well written and narrated Paranormal romance with a strong female character .

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes.

The story is fast paced and so is the narration.

Laurel Schroeder captured Andy's character and made it easy to identify with and root for.

Any additional comments?

Very Entertaining and Fun Book

Any additional comments?

Great addition to the series. Just as good if not better than the first book. Once again the story full of action, mystery, suspense, witch's, demon's, vampire's, betrayal, humor and more all woven into a very entertaining and enjoyable story. Add in Andy's sarcasm and attitude and it's an all around fun listen.

Never make a deal with a vampire. It's never going to end well.

Still not liking the whole love triangle.

Laurel Schroeder does the narration once again for this series. Again she does a great job. Clearly spoken. Smooth even pace. Pleasant voice. Wide variety of character voices. Love the way she brings out the humor and sarcasm of Andy. Always a pleasure listening to her narrate a story.

Good Follow-Up

Wick is her whole life. This is Book 2 and Andrea must do whatever it takes to protect him and his pack. This book was given to me via audiobook boom in exchange for and unbiased review. The vampire who has control of the pack must be removed from their lives. What's a girl to do? Kick butt what else?

Disappointing

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I would have liked to see a more consistent character- I found the main character confusing and frankly unlikeable.

Has Beast Coast turned you off from other books in this genre?

Meh- it did steal a lot of elements from other authors that I do like. I don't think I'll stop listening to urban fantasy

How could the performance have been better?

The performance was fine

What character would you cut from Beast Coast?

Lucien the vampire. Or maybe... the were-cat. Or heck, I dunno- I think I mostly dislike the main character.

Any additional comments?

I felt like the character in this book was not true to herself. She has many of the hangups that Anita Blake has, but they aren't understandable because we met this character seducing a man in order to kill him without remorse. And then she's all of a sudden squeamish about sex and public affection? Horrified at the lack of loyalty of a boyfriend who has to follow a vampire's orders? She's also a hypocrite and very shallow. I just ended up hating her. I thought she would be interesting from the first book, but it's almost as if she's a different person in this book. I found her attraction to the cat man much less believable and compelling than her attraction to the werewolf, which made the whole love triangle conflict shallow and petty. I felt myself wishing the men would just dump the b*** and move on. Then there are characters that we only see briefly, when it's convenient. And the character is dumb- she figures things out ridiculously slowly and gets herself into way too much trouble for a successful assassin. Blech.
