About this listen
Samantha Sykes is a beautiful young woman, but her life is ugly. Her wicked stepmother, twisted with jealousy, arranges a marriage for Samantha with a rich, arrogant, and cruel man.
It's only the actions of her concerned father that save her from this fate worse than death.
Or so it seems, until she discovers that her father’s plan is to send her hundreds of miles away to Lord Callum’s castle in Inverness, as servant and cook to a disfigured beast of a man, hidden from all but those who dare enter his maternal grandfather’s home.
Which is worse? Marriage to a monster, or servant to a beast?
In this original Regency fairy tale, the classic tale of Beauty and Beast takes a decidedly romantic Regency turn.

James Markland, Lord Falconer, knows that he is ugly, very ugly, and he lives a life of seclusion, wearing a heavily cowled mantle to conceal his face from the world. When he learns that a neighboring girl, the exquisite, young Ariel Hawthorne, is about to be sold into marriage with a revolting lecher, he offers her the only protection he can: his name. E. M. Forster's first novel is a witty comedy of manners that is tinged with tragedy. It tells the story of Lilia Herriton, who proves to be an embarrassment to her late husband's family as, in the small Tuscan town of Monteriano, she begins a relationship with a much younger Italian man - classless, uncouth, and highly unsuitable. A subtle attack on Edwardian values and a humanely sympathetic portrayal of the clash of two cultures, Where Angels Fear to Tread is also a profound exploration of character and virtue.

Story
A Suitable Boy is Vikram Seth's epic love story set in India. Funny and tragic, with engaging, brilliantly observed characters, it is as close as you can get to Dickens for the twentieth century. The story unfolds through four middle class families: the Mehras, Kappoors, Khans, and Chatterjis. Lata Mehra, a university student, is under pressure from her mother to get married. But not to just anyone she happens to fall in love with.

Story
Little Women is recognized as one of the best-loved classic children's stories, transcending the boundaries of time and age, making it as popular with adults as it is with young listeners. The beloved story of the March girls is a classic American feminist novel, reflecting the tension between cultural obligation and artistic and personal freedom.
But which of the four March sisters to love best? For every listener must have their favorite. Independent, tomboyish Jo; delicate, loving Beth; pretty, kind Meg; or precocious and beautiful Amy, the baby of the family?

A Beauty & the Beast + Cinderella Attempt
Overall Meh. Comes across as a beginner’s attempt at writing post Regency fiction. I listened to all of it and felt disappointed throughout. The characters are cartoonish, the plot makes little sense. The main characters are depicted as virtual saints whom God will save with little if any effort on their parts. The ‘bad guys’ are entirely evil with no redeeming characteristics whom God punishes in the end. The worst plot point is that the heroine’s father abandons his two daughters from the step-mother without comment at the end. I do not recommend.

A sweet tale for the young and young at heart
A new take on the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, this version leaves out the magic but contains the other essentials: beautiful heroine, loving father, wicked villain (more than one!), and of course the beast, who in this case is only a beastly-looking man. There are tribulations aplenty, a happy ending for all but the evildoers, and an important lesson in not judging by appearances—all narrated in voices that are very easy to listen to.
