Publisher's summary
In this epic conclusion to her New York Times bestselling series, Ayana Gray delivers a heart-pounding fantasy adventure filled with mythos, monsters, and mortal heroes who are astoundingly human.
Once a prisoner to Fedu, the vengeful god of death, Koffi has regained her freedom, but she is far from safe. Fedu will stop at nothing to hunt her down and use her power to decimate the mortal world. Koffi knows when Fedu will strike: during the next Bonding, a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event. To survive, Koffi will have to find powerful new allies quickly, and convince them to help her in the terrible battle to come.
Once a warrior-turned-runaway, Ekon has carved out a new life for himself outside Lkossa, but the shadows of his past still haunt him. Now, alongside unexpected friends, Ekon tries to focus on getting Koffi to the Kusonga Plains before the next Bonding. If he fails, Koffi will be consumed, either by her own dangerous power, or the terrible fate Ekon is doing everything he can to prevent. Ekon devotes himself to protecting Koffi, but the lingering threats from his own past are more urgent than he knows.
As Koffi and Ekon race to the Kusonga Plains—and try to garner the help of Eshōza’s ancient gods along the way—they must face a slew of dangerous beasts old and new. In the end, destiny may unite Koffi and Ekon for the last time—or tear them apart for good.

Nestled between Little St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island, Salix Pointe is not a place that many people know of. Part of the Golden Isles of Georgia, all the weeping willows that grow there have led the surrounding town’s folk to call it the Island of Death. Elisa and Tasmin may not want to put too much stock into the folklore of Salix Pointe, but there is a reason that the universe has brought the two women together.

Superb narration for a superb book
I loved everything about this last book in this amazing trilogy. The narration makes you fall in love with the characters (especially Ekon) that face so many interesting and breath-stopping adventures. The author really pulled out all the stops to provide a surprising and very satisfying ending to what has been a joy to read!

What an ending!!!!
This book and series have left such a warm feeling inside my heart, I’ve grown so much to enjoy all the characters that played a part in this conclusion. The parts that I enjoy the most was how it was a non stop adventure that almost seemed impossible, but I mean anything is possible with Koffi and Ekon lol. I wish I could give this book more than just 5 stars it was a banger of a conclusion

Entertaining Storyline
The story was enjoyable, flowed relatively well. The male narrators, especially the gentleman who read Akande's part, was superb 👌 top notch. I enjoyed the female narrator but voice was giving what Koffi needed; Bahni Turpin would have been perfect as Koffi. Overall a really great listen.👍

Great trilogy although a seemingly forced ending
Still a good story, although the ending was a bit out-of-sorts to me…. Details that were meticulous throughout seemed to be less intentional, particularly when considering the characteristics and relationships of the characters, at the end. This made the ending a bit weird. Perhaps it was challenging to find an ending - idk. Still a good listen overall and a great trilogy. There is a potentially finite fate for Fedu, it seems, so that was nice.

Story felt rushed and unfinished.
Voice Actors... the male, was good. exceotmagain making Ekon sound like he was in constant puberty with that high pitched voice. The female voice actor, awful. I Jared her voice for Ekon and the young man from the night zoo. he was supposed also be a teenager, maybe 15, he sounded like a 12 yr old girl. and her voice infliction was weird. Too excited and upbeat for the environment the story was trying to portray at times. The new male VA, great.
Now the story:
This is my least favorite of the series. Sooo much more could've been done with this, especially towards the end. It was like this huge build up to absolutely nothing. The most lame "fight scene" there could've been. And then Koffi constantly changing things, they trekked around the world finding everyone and everything for nothing really. I mean yes, they needed them in the end to "defeat" Fedu, but not really. They didn't even break a sweat. Then all of the weird tension between Koffi and Ekkon left untouched until the epilouge where it's just like oh, so that's what happened... It's asinine. On top of that not a single character is.truly likeable or had me hoping something worked in their favor.
Overall, get it if you're like me and have to finish out a series. But, if you really think about it the ending is quite predictable. But likely with less suspense and action than you are thinking.
