About this listen

This isn't your everyday Beauty and the Beast story. Our love story was tragic, until it wasn't....

Once upon a time I fell in love with a beast.

I fell fast. I fell hard.

I loved him intensely and I trusted him completely - until he ripped my heart to shreds.

Love isn't a fairy tale.

It's messy.

It's dirty. It's painful, and it's ugly.

Until it's not....

This is Book 2 and the final book of the Beast & Beauty Devil's Blaze Duet. Book 1: Beast must be heard first.

Powerful, emotional, and leaves you wanting more

What a great second book! I love how it picked up exactly where the first left off. The amount of detail in the book helps to create such a colorful story.

Best two books of the series!

I’ve listened to most of the books but these two along with Burned have been the ones I can’t put down! Maxine Mitchell is good but not on these books. I wish they would consider their narrators and how well they can present info. I hated both narrators for Skull and Beth story. As a Latina I couldn’t stand to hear how the narrator destroyed the language...

4 1/2 ⭐️

Even though everything I’d hope would happen, didn’t happen, Christopher (beast) and Hayden got there HEA. Yes, there were a lot of aspects, of the story, that were predictable and other aspects that were pretty cornet but, isn’t that what we love about the world of romance novels? There is a comfort in the nature of romance. We all have enough crap in our daily lives that does not work out how we hope that, our literary escape should always be a comfort; in my humble opinion. I suppose, if I were critiquing a great literary novel, I could point out every flaw and point out inconsistencies, but that isn’t the point, in this case. Did this book touch me emotionally?Yes. Were the invoked emotions from both end of the spectrum? Yes; there were laughs, happy and sad tears. Did I regret the time I gave up , while listening to this book? Absolutely not! If I could, would I have changed parts of the story? Of course. I wish that Beast didn’t have to give up his relationship with Skull and his other brothers, in the club. However, that wasn’t meant to be. Hopefully, if the series continues and, particularly, Torch, Skull and their families retire from club life and move to Wyoming to spend their golden years with their childhood friend, there will be the ultimate HEA. ( Hint, Hint, Ms Marie)
Seriously, my only true complaints are as follows...
I wish that JM would stop with the cliffhangers that require purchasing of multiple books; it comes across as dishonest, to me. Kristen Ashley has written many 20+ hour books that can be purchased at one price and she is just one example of an author who has done so.
Narration, Joe Arden is the shit but, there is something about the way that Maxine Mitchell expresses her interpretation of the, “Heroine in distress” that rubs me wrong. She is very talented but her character voices often come across as pathetic; and being emotionally scarred should not come across pathetic or weak. It should come across as the opposite; being a survivor should express strength and confidence; in my humble opinion. With all this being written, the bottom line is the same, yes, I feel like this series has been worth the time I have spent listening.

All the feels!

An absolutely incredible finish to an amazing duet. If the last epilogue doesn’t bring a tear to your eye then you have a heart made of stone. After everything our characters have been through I couldn’t have asked for a happier ending.
