About this listen

Charlotte

Ever since I was a little girl, I've taken care of everyone around me, including my self-centered older sister, Anna. When her poor choices make us targets of the Devil's Rejects Motorcycle Club, I grab her, and we run like hell. A new city, a new job, a new life. It's almost perfect - and then I meet Ryker. He's gorgeous, rugged, and too cocky for his own damned good. But he's a biker - exactly the type of man I've been running from. I have no business getting involved with a man like him. Too bad I can't get him out of my head.

Ryker

As VP of the Kings of Korruption MC, I know all about violence and loss. In my world, getting involved with a woman never turns out well. Avoiding commitment isn't something I have to work at - it's just a way of life. Then I meet Charlotte. Drawn to her kindness and beauty, I know there's no place for her in my world. Finding Charlotte battered and bloody late one night, I go against my own beliefs, making it my mission to protect her. The Devils are out for blood, and it's Charlotte's they want. Maybe I can't keep her, but I will put my life on the line to keep her safe. If not, I face losing the only woman who's ever made me feel alive.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ryker to be better than the print version?

I love both but what I love most on listening to Audio s that you can carry on with life while listening to an Awesome Read ....

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ryker?

Loved the whole book but right after Ryker got to Charlie after she had been taken .....

What does Pippa Jayne and Roger Wayne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

There take on how the Charators come to life , how they see them as a voice .

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Just after Ryker slept with Charlie then he pushed her away to protect her ... Always nice but so sad ...

Any additional comments?

Love the book / Series cannot wait for book two ....

Awesome book to listen to.

I loved Ryker and Charlotte's story. Ryker is a sexy biker and Charlotte is a palliative care nurse at the hospital where his club brother Smokey is dying, they are both attracted to each other but do nothing about it until thanks to Charlotte's sister Anna their world's are thrown together again on a wild ride involving a deranged rival club member set on collecting a debt, lies, deceit and and a slow burning passion for one another that will leave you swooning, breathless and wanting more.

appearances aren't always what they seem

Loved it.... Ryker is fierce, Charlotte didn't make me hate her then she showed me more "yes". story is good. Narrator could have been better but manageable

MC first love

The storyline was decent but the female narrator really took away from it. There was a lot of hissing and clicking in her speech like there was a speech impediment. The affect of that monotone voice really took away from the personality of the female character because it didn’t fit. It was only slightly better than AI generated narration. The male voice was spot on.

Narrator was annoying.

Although the storyline is okay, not overly realistic. The female narrator doesn’t fit the role and it ruins the experience.

Decent storyline - not super spicy

The story was good, but I found myself skipping through the female narrator's chapters. Not enough emotion.

Female narrator left me flat

I think this had a great start, the to main characters bonded and clearly had great chemistry. I liked Charlotte's compassionate spirit and Ryker's strong connection to Charlotte's patient. He very quickly showed his vulnerable side. But this book quickly went awry for me. Ryker goes out of his way to deny his feelings for her, even after they had become intimate. Poor Charlotte was put in a crappy situation by her irresponsible sister and she was out in the care of someone who acts like he doesn't want her around. I found myself wondering he didn't let her stay at the clubhouse instead. All that chemistry from the first few chapters evaporated. The villain in the story was a bit of a one note; evil, entitled, sadistic, etc, however I did feel real fear for Charlotte. Overall, I think this was good but not great.

I really liked Roger Wayne's performance. This wasn't my first from him but he bought Ryker's character alive. Pippa did a decent job as well.

Fizzled out

As far as MC books go this one was good but something was missing for it to stand out. We get the usual heroine is held captive and H pushes h away because she's not old lady material. At just under 6 hours it's a good book if you're looking for an MC fix.

Narration was 5 stars for Roger Wayne. He could have narrated the whole book on his own and I would have been ok with that. The female narrator was ok. You could here her take breaths and there was a lack of emotion in her narration. I struggled with her chapters.
