What a great book!

I really loved this book. It was a great blend of history, facts, and topics which effect bees as well as bee keeping. It was well written and made me read it in one setting. Job well done and thank you for expanding my knowledge of bees.

Painfully Boring: Think Twice

This book should have never become an audiobook. It is is really bad, and this is why it is really bad. It is dull, structurally disjointed, patronizing and, despite the author's academic credentials, full of grandious statements that lead to factual errors. While focused on honeybees and the "bee time", a whimsical selling phrase redolent of "play time", a good deal of the content consists of Winston's descriptions of the various foodstuffs he eats when on visits to his many affluent and cultured friends, his own various prestigious achievements in life, the things he owns, the things he controls, the types of clothing the people he meets wear, and a whole smattering of apicultural cliches, and tired scientific facts.

And Fajer Al-Kaisi's attempts to imitate the voices of a Southern Belle selling honey and a French entomologist lamenting the decline of his bees are simply abominable. "Killer Bees" was a much better book and could have worked better as an audiobook. "Bee Time" is not even so bad you want to listen because it is so bad. It is so bad you feel lowered as a human being for having paid money for it. It is mentally painful to listen to.
