About this listen

A charming alien. An adventurous female. An unexpected snowstorm... and only one bed.

Benjar learned at an early age to use his wits to live and his charm to ease his path – and hide his secrets. Even the bond he forms with his military brothers doesn’t completely soothe his troubled soul.

Inspired by his commander’s recent acquisition of a human bride, Benjar decides to find a mate for himself - a calm, nurturing woman who will bring peace to his restless spirit. Instead, he’s irresistibly drawn to a pretty, impetuous female.

No one seems to realize that Ruby has grown up - neither her loving but overprotective older sister nor the men in their small town. But as anxious as she is to find love and adventure, being taken from her bed in the middle of the night by a huge, feline alien isn’t what she anticipated.

Neither of them is who they expect. But when they’re stranded together in an isolated cabin, they might just discover they’ve both found exactly what they need.

Each book in the Seven Brides series features a different couple and may be treated as a standalone, but the books do link together. This sweet and steamy series is intended for mature listeners.

I thought book 2 was definitely better than book 1, I enjoyed Benjar more than Artek in terms of personality and connecting with his mate. I still wish these were longer because the fated/instant mate thing didnt get more time to develop before it was over. I did enjoy the nerdy/shy FMC (Ruby) and how she came out of her shell as the audiobook went on. I did giggle with her snark with Benjar, esp at the end when she wanted to get her sister updated on the situation, since she was kidnapped before the storm/winter haha. Definitely not a normal way to find a mate, but Benjar had so many cute and innocent moments I couldn't help but smile.

I still think these stories are a little clunky but book 2 was a big improvement with the flow and transitions of chapters/POVs so I am hoping book 3 and beyond is even better! I got all these books in a special edition book box but I am wondering if I should just wait to listen to them on audio since I listened to books 1 and 2 already. Benjar definitely had to be contained haha, his antics and attitude were all of the place (not in a bad way, just had no filter/was super high energy haha). I liked seeing him fall for Ruby more and more. We got to learn more about some of the other brothers, excited to meet their love interests (especially a certain quiet and stoic one and Ruby's older sister!!).

Again narration was good, helped elevate the story when it wasn't as sharp/was coasting along. I have listened to the male narrator and usually he is a big monster/some sort of paranormal creature so it was fun to see him in a more fun role and being a feline alien thingy haha. The female narrator I haven't heard before but thought her performances were good and worthy of listening to more in the near future!

Better than book 1, lots of smiles w/ Benjar haha
