About this listen

The compelling new thriller in the high-octane series featuring British CIA agent Ryan Drake. Perfect for fans of David Baldacci and Vince Flynn.

Former soldier and elite CIA operative Ryan Drake is heading out for dinner when he witnesses a sniper attack on a crowded freeway. A motorcade full of Russian Federal Security Force members has been ambushed. Many have been killed and, worst of all, Drake discovers that the leader of the strike team was Anya - the dangerous and enigmatic woman he once risked everything to protect. Drake cannot believe her capable of such an atrocity, but with the Russians baying for blood and tensions rising, Drake and his depleted team head for Siberia to discover the truth. And here he must confront the terrifying possibility that Anya's betrayal will unmask secrets greater and more devastating than he could ever have imagined.

Another Winner

The underlying plot is making it's way through the series of books with each books focusing on a slightly different element of the plot. I like the realistic portrayal of the challenges of knowing who to trust and the struggle to hold on to hope and trust and humanity in the face of betrayal, agendas, human nature, power struggles and greed. was pleasantly surprised by the many plot twist. Drake is persist ent in trying to see the good in others almost to the point of being naive but I am glad he is none the less.

Shepherd with no flock

So many twists and turns in this one. I feel like I spent half my time trying to figure out who fabricated that message from Anya. It was a good fake out, and I knew there was no way Anya would be given such a castaway death. It was certainly a shock, but if it is going to happen, I know that it will hit in the heart a lot harder than that. And you had to wrench it in with one last twist at the end! McKnight is an unwilling traitor!?

Excellent 3rd installment of the Ryan Drake series

Will Jordan is coming into his own on this book. The characters are really rounded out here. I enjoyed the plot and story. The narrator's is very good aside from the English interpretation of local terms like the 3 9 5, instead of saying three ninety five as we do in the DC area. But I believe that is in character for an English protagonist.

This book sets up the 4th coming book nicely and I look forward to listening to it soon.

Disney should take notes!

Disney should take notes on how to write a strong female lead from Will

Another good yarn

Three books in and the series going strong. Many twists and turns and “Betrayals’ for sure. The final one even surprised me. I would recommend this series.

Worthy effort

Not quite as good as the two previous novels, but still enjoyable despite some situations that stretched credulity. My real complaint is the production. This suffers from section breaks, that are apparent in written form, disappearing in the narration. This manifests in abrupt changes in characters, locations, or time that cause the reader to lose the flow of the story. This is especially bad in the beginning chapters.
