About this listen

Assistant District Attorney Ava Turkowski knows about leading a dangerous life - her father was a risk taker who died in the line of duty, and her beloved brother is taking just as many chances. Now a high-profile case has landed Ava herself in the crosshairs - and the only man standing between her and certain death is the one she can't forget.

Justin Brandt was Ava's brother's best friend, her protector during her wild-child teenage years...and the object of her hottest fantasies. Now he's a highly trained Navy SEAL with a body to die for, and he's been tasked with keeping Ava alive. Which means keeping her close - the closer the better.

Good book, bad narrator

I kept listening because of the story, but the narrator almost made that impossible. Vary flat and bad male voices.

Narrator bad

I think the story was good but I could hardly get through it because the narrator was so bad. She was so robotic and unemotional that I didn't want to listen. I couldn't wait for it to end so I could stop hearing her mechanical voice poorly pronounce the words in my ear. Not sure how others rated this so high. I’m definitely putting this narrator on my list of audible narrators to exclude…yes, that bad.

Terrible Narrator - couldn't finish it

Would you try another book from Stephanie Tyler and/or Zoe Hunter?

I usually love Stephanie Tyler but the narrator is so bad on this one that I couldn't finish it. It's a shame as the story sounds as though it could be good but I will have to read it instead.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Different narrator - one who understands how punctuation affects how a sentence is read.

Would you be willing to try another one of Zoe Hunter’s performances?

Absolutely not. There is no consideration of punctuation or context. The emphasis is on the wrong words in the sentence, if any at all. I cringed through 20 minutes and had to abandon it.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Don't know, couldn't get passed the first 20 minutes of terrible narration.

Any additional comments?

Please authors/publishers take care in who you choose as narrator.
