About this listen

Judd Sanders couldn't believe it when the beautiful, wide-eyed woman he rescued from some drunk hoodlums started poking her gorgeous little nose into his business. She was obviously a menace to herself - not to mention to his libido. Worse, she'd blow his cover. For little did Emily Cooper know that Judd was really a cop - whose cover left him a little too "uncovered" for his liking.©2009 Lori Foster (P)2009 Audible, Inc. Outrageous

Another great story by Lori Foster. The narrator however left something to be desired. It seemed that she was reading the book for the first time and didn't quite get the characters.

good listen

Even though I found some of the character's behavior a bit inconsistent..I ultimately liked the story and enjoyed the narration too.

Male protagonist is an asshole and doesn't change.

it's really hard to root for someone who is an asshole and doesn't care that they are an asshole. at first I thought it was the way the voice artist was interpreting the book, but it became clear that that's the way the character is written.

Is this a real person narrating?

Sounds completely robotic! I love Lori Foster’s books but simply can’t abide robotic narration. Come on people- these authors deserve better! I’ll be finishing this one on my kindle

My favorite Lori Foster book

I read the manga first, and I liked it. This book is not as long and dragged out as her books that come out later. It's good that it's a stand alone and not part of a series.
I'm currently listening to Run the Risk (12 hours of foul mouths and smut) which is not nearly as good.

Very far from Foster’s usual quality

I’ve listened to many Lori Foster books— loved most and at least liked the rest, until this one. The characters are two dimensional and not very likable, and it doesn’t seem credible that they would tolerate each other, much less fall in love. The disappointing quality of the book wasn’t helped by the truly dreadful narration, which was stilted and annoying. Give this one a pass, even if you’re a diehard Foster fan.

Robotic narration and awkward writing

Alpha male romance (especially with men in uniform) is one of my favorite genres. I also like romance with action and humor, and have enjoyed several Lori Foster books. But this one fell flat. Mostly, I couldn’t get past the weird pacing and inflections by the narrator- giving no chemistry or sense of danger. Bumping to 1.4x didn’t help much. The stripper gimmick and the cop mystery were not credible, even for a romance book. The insta love, “universe moved when we first kissed,” storyline was also off. The first rather tame sex scene came four hours into this near seven hour book (ch7).

For funnier, sexier cop romance, I recommend Jed Had To Die by Tara Sivec. If you want more danger and edge, with naughtier sex, try Harber’s Titan series (first couple in the series are good). If all you want is hot cop erotica with a fun story and sexy narrator, go with Hot Cop, narrated by Jacob Morgan.
