About this listen

Life is counted in tiny breaths, ones that measure the length of your existence. Life stole the ability to make those breaths easy when Lily was nine years old. Turned her quiet. Made her curl into herself, and shut out a world that threatened to bury her under its weight.

The end of her world is what brings him back - her biker. His chocolate eyes pierce her soul while his club tempts her with a life that she didn't know she could ever have. Especially not when she was clutching the tattered remains of her existence, and with a weight bearing down on her which makes her unfit for the role of Old Lady. Asher changes that. He wants to set about repairing it, repairing her and her broken world. The problem is, even his strong shoulders can't carry the burden of her sorrow.

Asher doesn't take no for an answer. She may have given him her heart three years ago, but never in her wildest dreams would she imagine she had possessed his for the same amount of time.

Just when it seems like she may be able to ride off into the horizon, the world isn't quite finished trying to rob her of breath. Of life.

Contains mature themes.

Wow a lot of ups and downs

Lily worried me because her grief was causing her to make some very bad choices. There was one point I was ready to throw my kindle against the wall because I was feeling anxiety like I was living in her world.

Asher and Lily

An emotionally captivating, invigorating and on the edge of your seat thrilling ride to go on. Asher and Lily are cute together but their road is not all sunshine and rainbows. Lily's grief was palpable, you can feel everything she was going through just pouring off these pages. My heart went out to her because I honestly know how she felt, I just lost my mom and its a hard pill to swallow. These two have loads of chemistry, their banter is charming but what I loved the most is the deep connection they developed. I loved everything about this story.

Based on Books 1, 2 & 3 - Book 4 is disappointing!

I was looking forward to reading book 4 in this series. Unfortunately it was very underwhelming. The best part of the book was the narrator.
At the beginning of the book Lilly (Flower), the lead female in the book, suffered a personal tragedy. She spent the entire book obsessing about how she wasn’t good enough, wasn’t beautiful enough, didn’t have any thing to offer the male character and basically did not have any redeeming qualities. She could not see that her life had any value, despite being told otherwise. This would have been ok for several chapters, based on what Lilly had been through in her life, but it continued throughout the entire book. It was hard to listen to when she refused to believe what others were telling her. It just went on for far too long in the book.
The end of the book felt far too rushed when things changed for Lilly. The author did not explore/explain several changes/circumstances that were experienced by the characters. While it wasn’t a cliffhanger, I was left with lots of unanswered questions.
Because I loved books 1, 2 & 3 I’m going to assume this was an off book for the author and I will give book 5 a listen before I decided if I will continue with the series.

Too much saying over and over

The thoughts of them repeatedly said thoughts over and over. Drew out repetitions of thoughts and kind of being to stupid reactions to situations that were not even believable. Really got monotonous reading.

a disappointment

i would love to give a good review of this book cause I loved the prior Sons of Templar Ive read but I couldn't wait till this book ended I figured if I paid for it I was going to see it through but the story was so up and down Lilly whined about everything she compared her self to Amy and Gwen about never being able to fit in to the clubs old lady role cause she was shy and quiet and who can't throw sarcasm and snark to her old man but thats what she did through most of this whole book and then she whined about being around so many people at the club house but yet she was content to go to clubs with alot of people around and not have a problem with it I just didnt like the female characters story but I loved Asher and his alpha attitude but if I'm honest I was kind of rooting for him to give up on Lilly after she kept turning him away over stupid things but this books story dragged and it felt like it was a story repeating its self each chapter just worded differently but the narration was great Emma wilder is one of my favorite narrators

Sorry

I loved every other book in the series. But! This female is the most whinny character I’ve ever heard. It was so difficult to listen too. I wanted to slap her. I kept hoping that Asher told her to her to hit the road. Waste of a credit

Annoying

The girl in the story is so annoying I can barely stand to finish the book. The narrator is great. And the man of the book is awesome but Lily is so so very annoying it’s hard to listen.

Exhausting

I seldom dnf, so I had to 2x & 3x this one.

Stubborn female who really should’ve been in therapy.

The narration for males isn’t great but I could overlook it in the other books because they had better stories and more interesting characters. Book was too long.

Not my fav.

OMG....

The whining & indecisive back & forth for 8 hours of this chick. I can understand the first couple of chapters, but THE ENTIRE BOOK? I still have 2 hours to go & it's taking everything in me to finish it. Asher has the patience of a Saint. Loved the first 3 books, but this one is not for me.
