About this listen

Heiress Daphne Ryan is uncertain about spending a week at the sprawling country estate of the family of her sister’s boyfriend. For starters, she doesn’t get along with her sister. Then there’s the fact his family is old, wealthy aristocracy, and Daphne’s from brash, new American money.

Mostly, it’s that everyone knows Duncroft House is haunted by the ghost of a 1920s film star who died there. Deemed an accident, for nearly a century, people are sure it was murder.

Daphne doesn’t like scary things, say...haunted houses. She likes it less when strange things start happening to her when she arrives.

But she finds she has a surprising ally.

Ian Alcott, the heir to the earldom, is rich, gorgeous, and just as concerned about the frightening things that keep befalling Daphne at his ancestral family home. As he moves to protect her, Daphne finds he’s also funny, kind, and sexy as hell.

Indeed, he just might be too good to be true.

One of my Favorites!

It’s a well known fact that I’m a huge Kristen ashley fan. I’ve loved all her books. Too Good to be True is one of my top favorites. There’s just something about this book that just hooks me and gives me all the feels. I love it. I’ve read it twice and now I can add the audiobook to my list. Stella Bloom is one of my top favorite narrators and I love her performance. She has a lovely voice and adds just the right inflection when needed. She reads in a smooth cadence and the transition between characters and scenes is flawless. I listened to this one at work and there were many times I caught myself staring into space enthralled in the story so much inforgotnineas supposed to be working lol. Highly recommend this book both because the story is great and because the narration is amazing. Definitely glad I now own this so I can listen again!

Lovely story

The language used was lovely, the characters were fleshed out well, the mystery was intense, the romance was too😏, and everything wraps up nicely in the end❤️

Enjoyable, repeatable

Enjoyable story that you can tell was written in installments in Kindle Vella. I like it so much that I keep relistening to it in between other books. More than 10x.
Too bad Audible has screwed up the listening app so much as of August 2024. I now have to keep track of my favorites in another app. Shame on Audible for ruining my listening experience!!!

The Publisher’s Summary is pretty good at providing a general idea of the primary storyline. There’s also the antics of Daphne’s sister Portia and her boyfriend Daniel to add confusion.
The story is in no way smutty, but neither is it for prudes.
Bloom does a great job with narration.

Loved it!

I loved the mystery of finding out why things were happening in the house and listening to the stories of history and, of course, the romance. Great listen!

Good Different

Another exceptional craft put together to make Art once again. Very well written and performed splendidly. Thank you to all who came together and made the wait really worth it for another of Kristen's novels.
