About this listen
The sins of the past will burn you.
Four nights. Three days. The human son of two powerful vampires has been taken from his home, and if Carwyn and Brigid can’t find him, the delicate balance of power in an immortal haven might just go up in flames.
Las Vegas holds a special appeal in the immortal world. It’s a city of darkness, debauchery, and vice; a city where inhibitions are low and blood runs hot.
Rose Di Marco and Agnes Wong have been running this city as immortal bosses for nearly a century, but when their son is kidnapped, they turn to their neighbors for help.
Carwyn and Brigid know how to find the lost, but what they don’t know is why Zasha Sokholov, a Siberian fire vampire and offshoot of an old crime family, became fixated on them. Carwyn has his suspicions, but all Brigid can think about is a fifteen-year-old boy who’s been taken as bait. She’ll need a clear head and the help of some unexpected allies to find him.
Bishop’s Flight is the fourth book in the Elemental Covenant series by Elizabeth Hunter, ten-time USA Today best-selling author of the Irin Chronicles and the Elemental Mysteries.
“We may try to run from our past, but it finds us. We can put continents—even millennia—between us, but in the end, the sins of the fathers will come back to visit.”

Robin Brannon was a normal wife, mom, and antique-shop owner until a brush with death turned her day-to-day life upside down. Now she and her two best friends are seeing things that belong in a fantasy novel. Ghosts. Visions. Omens of doom. Nothing that belongs in the peaceful mountain town they call home. Added to that, Robin’s marriage is on the rocks, her grandmother’s health is failing, her mother is driving away the customers at her shop, her teenage daughter refuses to get her driver’s license, and her left knee aches every darn morning.

What does a forty-year-old former child star do when she finds out she’s a Demon? A sitcom, of course. Age is just a number unless you’re an actress of a certain age trying to make a comeback in La La Land. Back in the day, I was the child star of the hit show Camp Bites. Today, I’m still living it down. After a disastrous soap opera audition and getting fired from a TV show for not having a bodacious enough backside, one would think I’d be smart enough to go into real estate. Nope. Just found out from the rudest, meanest, and hottest guy alive that I’m a Demon.

Story
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

Another fantastic Elemental Book
I lobe these Elemental books, Carwin and Bridgit are definitely on my favorites list! I can't wait for the next book.
I love these books that break off from the initial series. it allows us to keep up with characters we have grown to love. E Hunter, please keep the Elemental world alive, I love reading these books. I have yet to read one that I didn't like. You are by far one of my favorite authors.
Thank you for allowing us into your world!

We are getting closer to a resolution....
4.25 Stars 🌟
I'm a huge fan of this series as a whole and of every single one of the spin off series. For some reason, the Brigid/Carwyn spin off is not my favorite. I don't hate it, I just have had a hard time connecting with Brigid. I know, I know...that really makes no sense. Sue me.
So, this is a novella length story about the kidnapping of a human teenager -Lucas- from 2 vampire parents who have adopted him after the death of his parents. These parents also happen to run the Las Vegas territory. More importantly, it is also the continuation of the over arching story line of the mystery fire vampire who is basically stalking Brigid. In the end, this was just anther ploy to get her attention.
The story does have a satisfactory tie up to this story line, but it leaves the over arching storyline with Zasha Sokholov still open. Things are coming to a head and it seems like it is going to be soon.
Carywn, as usual, is his amazing self. He is such an endearing character. I don't know, maybe I have a hard time with this couple because he was like 1000 years old before he met Brigid, who was a heroin addict in her 20's. The age discrepancy and the accompanying power imbalance - not her addiction issues - has always kind of bothered me. With that being said, I'm a total hypocrite because I also feel like anyone would be LUCKY to have Carwyn. He really is a great guy. Funny, powerful, loyal...yep, an all around great guy. See....hypocrite.
I listened to this the day the audio came out. Even though the ebook had been out a while, I bought the audio copy as well. As usual, the narrator did a fine job. I always love listening to the various accents. I have no clue if they are accurate, I just enjoy listening.
So, it looks like the next book is going to be the final climax to this saga. I think I even heard there is going to be some crossover - now I can't remember to what, I just think that's what I read.
Can't wait :)

Great addition to the Elemental universe
I love that the author doesn’t follow a formula for the books and that the unique personalities of the characters drive the story line. The narrator does a fantastic job with voices and tempo.
