About this listen

New York Times best-selling author J. Sterling brings you a brand new stand-alone romance that will excite and delight you. Falling for your rival has never been more fun!

They say you always want what you can't have. And what I want is Julia La Bella. I'm supposed to hate her with every fiber of my being, but I'll let you in on a little secret.... I don't. Not even close. The woman is stunning. She's also a colossal pain in my...you-know-what.

Julia's my number-one competitor in the wine industry and she also happens to live next door. Not a good combination for a guy who's been told to "stay away from her" his whole life. Our parents can't stand each other: a bitter, outdated rivalry with no end in sight. Which doesn't fare well for my heart. Or my loins. Yeah, I went there.

What can I say: I want her. I've always wanted her.

So how am I going to convince her to see me as the super-hot, smart, irresistible guy next door, instead of the one person on earth she supposedly can't stand? I'm not entirely sure, but we're about to find out. Wish me luck.

Cute enemies to lovers story

The feud between neighboring family vineyards, LaBella and Russo, has been going on for decades. Now the sole offsprings of each family are trying to buck tradition and act on their mutual attraction...will they succeed?
This is a cute enemies to lovers story that has you cheering for the H...the h took some getting used to because she was spineless when in came to facing her father. Great performance by the narration team.

Good

I loved everything except the silly family makeup scene that I thought was cheesy, rushed and not believable. Her dad didn’t even wait to hear full story before all was perfect again....after he’d basically disowned her the day before.

Another glass please!

Never have been a fan of audio books. This is the FIRST one I have actually made it to the end. Overall the story was enjoyable, found myself laughing out loud a few times. Enjoyed it enough to try another.

LOVED James and Julia!

Enemies to Livers is my FAVORITE troupe and J Sterling knocked it out the park with this one! This exactly why I love enemies to lovers so much. The hate chemistry is explosive and when that hate turns lust turns love, it’s all that much better! The hate/love creates a passion like no other, IMO. Makes it hotter, more intense and more enjoyable to read.

James and Julia could have been friends or even involved long ago but their families are nursing a rival so old that Julia isn’t so sure why their families are at war with each other, except for her families vines on the southern side of the vineyard. Those apparently make the best wine and their families have been fighting over it for decades.

James doesn’t want to fight with Julia, he just wants her. And he’s going to do what he can to make her see that the rivalry between their families has nothing to do with them and end the feud once an for all.

Loved every minute of it! The narrators were spot on too! Their voices really made Julia and James come to life! Love listening to them.

Quick and cute!!!

I love a good enemies to lovers romance. This author gives you everything. Two families at odds with each other. A love that's been brewing since childhood. And to watch these individuals settle the score for love was simply amazing. I have listened to J. Sterling before and she never disappoints. The narration was just the icing on the cake.

Narration better than the book

This was 'ok'. The narration is great, saves it really. I could listen to Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon all day - one of my favorite narrator sets.
The story....its not bad, its got some interesting turns, but the writing is borderline cheesy to the point of being almost a parody of romance - some of the phrases and things could almost be programmed into a romance writing robot. Its a shame because the storyline had potential if it had a better writer who wasn't just recycling typical romance phrases and concepts.
I gave story 2 stars because there is no 'quality of writing' rating. I would actually give the story 3.5 stars, but the writing drags it down.
