About this listen

Ever since she can remember, dark-eyed Susan Armitage has longed for Logan Vance - the one man who can never be hers. But a twist of fate and her own reckless desire drive Susan to scandalize St. Louis society by agreeing to accompany Logan and his two young children on a long, perilous journey west through Indian Territory.

In the rugged Oklahoma wilderness, Logan and Susan’s long-denied passion for each other can finally be fulfilled. Yet even as they glory in each other at last, they find their dreams threatened by the dangerous realities of frontier life. What began as a ruse to be together soon becomes a struggle for survival that will test the very limits of their love.

Good story but....

Good story, but way too long and too repetitive. I listened to the whole thing because I wanted to see how it ended. However, this story could’ve been told in half the time by shortening length and number of love scenes and communication issues.

Not for me

I had a really hard time with this book. I can sum the book up easily, they fight about the same thing, have make up sex and immediately fight again.
It is like the same chapter was used each time and some words were changed.

Partners

I loved the overall book but found the main characters frustrating because they would get into fights because they assumed things about each other. This happened too many times.

I didn’t finish this.

The book was slow. I wanted to like it because I am from Oklahoma but never even made it to Oklahoma with the family. The fact the man kept taking off his shirt seemed so unlikely for pre-statehood Oklahoma.

Not for me!

Maybe I should have stuck it out a little longer, but I just couldn't. I got halfway through chapter 3 and had to stop. Narrator's voice did not match the characters, or rhe story. Also, some of the phrasing seemed wrong ansd out op place for the time.

Missed opportunity to tell a good story.

It's a shame that the author did not choose to go into details about situations that faced Indian Territory during the time frame of this book. The book would have been really great if the author would have geared more towards and actual historical novel then just a romance novel. This book is a romance novel. The two main characters, misunderstand each other blame each other and then have makeup sex repeatedly. if you want the same old same old boy meets girl they fight they make up then this is a book for you.
