A fun continuation

After the events of 'Black Swan Planet' Raka has survived and is living on Earth. But he suspects that Marco also survived, and wants to draw him out before he can do more damaged. So he decides the best (or possibly worst) way to do this: make a spectacle of himself, become rich and super famous, so that Marco just has to come out of hiding and find him. Thus begins 'Black Swan Antithesis', a fun continuation of the series that sees Raka, and Marco, travel Earth and the galaxy again.

Like the first book this is a fun, if not slightly juvenile in humor, romp. It's engaging and entertaining throughout, keeping up a high pace, and providing some fun satire. I think the humour in the first book was generally sharper, but this book is still really enjoyable

Narration by David Swanson is really good. He provides a large number of character voices, filled with emotion and excitement. He brings the book and the characters to life. He is well paced, clear and enjoyable to listen to.

A significant character in the book has a link to blue grass banjo music, and a small section of banjo music is included in several places. I'm often not a fan of music played over the audiobooks, but the use of it is done to further the story (plus also to some comedic effect) and it is not overdone or overbearing. Despite my usual dislike of music in audiobooks, I actually found it to be an enhancing element for this book.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily.

Super fun read!

I liked Antithesis at least as much or more than Book 1- Black Swan Planet! The story of our unlikely hero Raka continues, and his adventures include some new characters in addition to some from the first book. Just the right amount of over the top comedy and adventure! Even if you haven’t read the first book, check this one out! David Swanson does a great job with the voice work giving life to each character!

Entertaining continuation of a great story

Excellent continuation of the first book, but could be read stand alone. The characters in this book, especially Raka, makes you feel like you are there with them experiencing what they are. Most of the future tech in this book is believable making it seem like a story that is based on a possible future. The book made me smile and feel sad. I can't wait for the next episode.

Additionally the narration was excellent with easy to differentiate characters and no errors.

Even better than the first

Great characters in another epic space adventure! The plots are insane and the writing style is reminiscent of Hunter Thompson which the reader channels as well as the author. More please!

Good stuff!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I thought this was a great follow up to book 1, but it has enough background that you could start with this one pretty easily. It has a very snarky and humorous style that I really enjoyed. The narration was well done, too. I would definitely recommend this to fans of Monty Python and the like.

Great continuation of this series.

I just love this series. This audiobook read is like watching the movie: Monte Python. It's hilarious and the humor at times is very deep, which requires reading at least two more times over the next couple years. I highly recommend this audiobook. Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Very entertaining!

Having not read the first book I was concerned I might not get into the goings on of this book, but fear not this stands on its own. It definitely has made me want to go and experience the first in the series because this is a funny and thoroughly enjoyable story. One of the many things I liked a lot about this book is it covers a wide span of time and scale and has more than a condensed little adventure going on. The writing is funny throughout and has some very unique and creative scenarios and implementation of classic things that would happen in a book like this. The narration by David Swanson is very good and I really enjoyed his take on all the characters and his performance of them all. I look forward to the next book in this series and going to read the first.

Saturday Night Live in Space

I liked that it started with some background from the 1st book the, Black Swan Planet.
Some folksy characters, some crazy, some sane. Throw in some action and it was overall a good listen.
The narrator on the other hand was excellent. A great range in characters, his voice was clear and expressive. Easy to follow.
