Publisher's summary

A church mouse is no ordinary mouse, and Hildegarde - the Mouse Mistress of Saint Bartholemew's - is no ordinary mouse leader. It falls to her to keep all the church mice safe and out of sight.

But when a few parishioners report mouse sightings, Hildegarde and the rest of the church mice must face a most dreadful consequence: the Great X. To complicate things, a ceremony called the Blessing of the Animals is fast approaching. Saint Bartholemew's will soon be filled with pets... including cats!

Oh, dear. Within the stately stone walls of the church, life is not as serene or safe as one might think. It will take the courage and patience of a... well, of a saint to keep this scampering, squeaking tribe of Hildegarde's intact.

Good storyline

This was a Great story Of a wonderful concept. That we should love others as we love ourselves And when others do us wrong we should follow the golden rule, Which is to treat others as we would want to be treated.
The main character was courageous and Bold. Even in the face of danger she was able to think clearly it make wise choices.
She ended up helping the very mouse who could have cared less about hew as very cruel and mean to her.

Kid's review (9yrs)

Where does Bless This Mouse rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank it 9/10 of all the books I've ever read. The story was from a mouse's point of view and I enjoyed it and have listened to it a lot

What other book might you compare Bless This Mouse to and why?

It reminds me a bit of Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, a community of mice in a church facing a great threat that could destroy them all.

Any additional comments?

My brother (7) and I really liked this story and would recommend it for kids aged 5- 10 yrs old.

CHRISTIAN MICE?

I'M not Catholic, but I am christian. I never knew there were so many blessings to be given by priests within the catholic church. Its both a little icky and cute to think that there mice living within the walls of any old church(catholic in the case of this particular story). I dont want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't read the story, but basically there are literally hundreds of mice makings who knws how many actual families of mice living quite comfortably within the walls unknowingly of the walls of this church and they have been living there so long that they seem to know all the acts and blessings and prayers and beliefs and practices that goes on. in other words when they take a piece of cheese from the traps they actually feel guilty because they know that stealing is a sin. but what i mean by blessings is that there is something called the blessing of animals that happens a couple of times and i dont want to give it away, but being mice that becomes very important especially to one mice inparticular. how do mice stay so hidden? how many mice are there? do they really understand us enough to think they are like us and are therfore entitled to the same blessings? can they avoid the exterminator? do they just eat the cheese or do they drink the wine too? you will have to read to find out.
