About this listen

I have three simple wishes:

  1. Keep my houseplants alive.
  2. Open a charming bed-and-breakfast in my small town.
  3. Never see or speak to Beckett Valentine again.

None of those things are currently possible.

When Beckett decides he’s also interested in purchasing the Horseshoe Creek Ranch, my dreams of owning a bed-and-breakfast become a nightmare. He refuses to give me what I want while playing dirty—a common theme in our rivalry. Because of him, we’re in a ridiculous bidding war for the land.

We might have hated each other since our teens, but the stakes have never been so high. And right now, I’m more determined than ever to take down my best friend’s older brother—cowboy boots and all.

Bless Your Heart is a small-town enemies-to-lovers grumpy/sunshine best-friend’s-older-brother contemporary Southern romance with rom-com vibes and a guaranteed happily ever after. Each book in the Valentine Texas series is a stand-alone. Warning: This book contains tons of Southern sass, sarcasm, and lots of spice! Fade to black is not included.

Funny and entertaining

Beckett and Summer have known each other for a while. They are also neighbors, but have been denying their attraction. When they both become interested in the same property a bidding war starts between them since neither wants to relent. But love has a funny way to win always. I voluntarily reviewed an ALC of this book.

Great Narrators and Great Story

I love the accents of the narrators. They seem like they fit the characters very well.

As far as the actual book goes, I loved that as well. It's always nice when you have a vest friend's sibling book where the best friend is super supportive of the relationship, versus that being a conflict. I liked that we got the history of Beckett and Summer slowly. The first date that Beckett planned for Summer was very sweet (and spicy!), and the way he went about getting her to go on the date was very cute.

It's a great performance and great story!

Beckett and Summer have had a grudge since they were in high school and when the ranch between their properties goes up for sale and they both go after it, things are bound to get heated between them.

I read the first two books out of order and it didn't matter that I did this as I don't feel like I missed anything. Although Beckett and Summer had some great banter, I felt that a fair amount of their interactions felt forced and struggled to feel the chemistry between them even though everyone around them was constantly telling both of them that they were going to end up together.

I am going to keep going with this series as this family is just too entertaining to walk away from.

Audio → Aaron Shedlock and Vanessa Edwin did a good job of portraying the characters and the story.

Great series starter!

Summer and Beckett are rivals. They both want to buy the neighboring ranch to realize their dreams. The ranch can only be bought through bid, which rankles both Summer and Beckett. Summer wants to open a bed and breakfast; Beckett wants to expand his horse training facility. Beckett throws down a challenge which Summer reluctantly engages in. Little does she know that Beckett wouldn't back down that easily. Throughout the book the banter between the two changes from all out rivalry to friendly to even more. It got harder and harder for them to resist the attraction between them. The author certainly created two main characters that were opposites in every way, who could banter with each other, and challenge each other, ultimately ending up together. Their HEA makes it a win-win situation for them. The author brought us a small town, cowboy, enemies to lovers, best friend's brother romance that will easily have me falling in love with Valentine, Texas. I can't wait for more!

Vanessa Edwin and Aaron Shedlock brought this book to life! The characters’ personalities shown through with the narrators’ gift of storytelling.

Great story

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I found it highly entertaining. I loved the banter back and forth between the characters. This story is an enemies to lovers story and it definitely fits that bill. I loved how it was done and the history between these two as Summer's best friend is Beckett's sister. The story was written well and kept me engaged with the antics that these get into. It's all culminating as they both want the same property for their own dreams and it is bringing them back into closer proximity and interaction than they've been more recently. I loved how this story developed and we got to see them work on things and figure out how to move forward. This story was entertaining and fun and I loved the secondary characters as well and can't wait to see more in this series!
The narrators did a great job with the story and bringing it to life. They showcased the accents, emotion and action throughout the story very well in their voices.

Sweet & Spicy!

Bless Your Heart was a sweet small town enemies to lovers and I enjoyed Summer and Beckett’s romance. They had so much chemistry even though both of them are constant denying it and I loved the verbal sparring between the both of them. This story fun and sexy and I’m looking forward to the next story in the series.

Vanessa Edwin and Aaron Shedlock narrated this book in dual style and they both gave great at bringing these characters to life. They were great at delivering the banter between Summer and Beckett. I loved both of their performances.

enemies to lovers with all the feels

Summer and Beckett did not disappoint. This frenemies to lovers, best friend's older brother, small town romance was just what I needed. The witty banter between Summer and Beckett was great and the heat was palpable, and Beckett's dirty mouth was the best. There was lots of sarcasm, funny insults thrown, and their chemistry was undeniable. When they both bid on the same property, the gloves come off and the heat turns up in all the best ways. Add in a snarky best friend and you really have the perfect story.
Vanessa Edwin and Aaron Shedlock did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, country twang included. I can't wait to listen to the next one 💚

Bless Your Heart Indeed!

This has been on my TBR for a minute now, and so glad I finally bought the kindle version & the audio! Vanessa Edwin & Aaron Shedlock were top tier as Summer and Beckett!

This was a quick but delish listen! Great small town ranchy vibes, as well as enemies to lovers. Summer and Beckett have been in each other's lives forever (Summer's bestie is Beckett's sister), and after a high school issue, have been "enemies" since. When a ranch in between their respective families ranches comes up for sale, both Beckett and Summer want it for the opportunity to bring their dreams to life. Both are determined to get the ranch, and aren't willing to budge.

They try to deny their feelings for the other that have been there for YEARS, but they aren't great at it lol. Their chemistry is insane, & let me tell y'all,,,if Beckett told me to jump, HOW HIGH SIR? HOW. HIGH. Than man's mouth is something else! PHEW...He's also a closet sweetheart, which makes me melt! I mean the tattoo for her?! He would do anything for Summer, and he proves it towards the end.

SWOOOOOOON!
