About this listen

"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves..."

Beatrix Rose has worked her way through her Kill List. Four are dead and just two remain. But now her enemies know she has them in her sights. The hunter becomes the hunted.

In a thrilling conclusion to the breakneck trilogy, Beatrix and her daughter must fight them in North Africa, New York and finally in the swamps of North Carolina. It's a lightning-paced roller-coaster of action that pits a deadly assassin against the might of the most powerful private army on the planet.

It's long odds for Beatrix. And that's just how she likes it.

Blood and Roses

Just when it seems like all is lost Rose comes through as a winner. I enjoyed two books about Rose.

Definitely a Great Read

I would recommend this book in order to help in rounding out the series and adding far greater context. It’s written and narrated extremely well.

Great Rose Finale?

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood & Roses to be better than the print version?

Couldn't have the audio edition without the print version to perform, and I tried to read and listen together. With this method, I must admit that I often got so engrossed in the audio that I sometimes forgot to read when there was an action scene being vividly performed with different voices.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I kept waiting for Bella to be a mini-mom, but she didn't come close until after a string of amateur mistakes.

Which character – as performed by Mark Deakins – was your favorite?

His performance of King impressed me because I've met guys like King and Deakins' voice was right on the mark.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Bella vomits in the staircase, the moment was not emotional, but it moved me to think, "That's what really happens".

Any additional comments?

Mark Deakins' performance was awesome and he couldn't have done it without Mark Dawson's awesome novels to perform. For me, the entire Beatrix Rose series was five stars. I hope it's not just my gut feeling that Bella might blossom into the same kind of Rose her mom was.

WOW! GREAT STORY AND READING

I loved this trilogy and the only thing I would love is a story with the daughter with Pope in the shadows somewhere.

A really entertaining series

It's 1am and I just finished binge listening to the entire series. Great characters, good narration and fast moving story plot. Even though each book was short, they were worth the credit. This is the first series I've read from Mark Dawson and I will check out other books of his.

Loved it! Had to go get another one.

Can't wait to see what will happen with Isabella and how she will survive on her own.

Great read and listen..

Sooo, Beatrix went out with a bang but didn’t finish off the most important person on her kill list; Control. She didn’t kill him but she wounded him pretty badly but he was going to make it. That is, until 13 year old Isabella got involved after her mother died. Wow! She was definitely her mother’s daughter.

This was an exciting set of 3 novellas, each better than the last, and each ending with a lead-in to the next one.

Now that Beatrix is dead and Isabella is on her own this is where I started the Isabella Rose’s series and it was great. Also, Napoleon Ryan narrated it and there’s no better narrator than him. Just sayin’

No romance and the F-bomb was used 18 times.

As to the narrator: Another great job by Mark Deakins.

Excellent

Following along with Beatrix as she finishes her goals is a fast paced tale. More answers are given as is more insight on some of the characters. I listen to audio books as I travel and I found myself just sitting in my car listening after I arrived at my destination, needing to know what was going to happen.

Beatrix Rose novels are wonderful

In Cold Blood, Blood Moon Rising, and Blood and Roses are best viewed as one novel. I love these books! Beatrix Rose is seeking to find and kill the people responsible for forcing her into exile and kidnapping her daughter. Rose, a former British espionage agent, has a terminal disease and her time is limited. Guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat!

There is a second Beatrix Rose series about her time in exile in Hong Kong prior to this series (actually written after this series). It is available for Amazon Kindle, but is not available in audiobook format.

Mark Dawson is an excellent author.
