Publisher's summary

She was the puppet. He pulled the strings.

Now the death toll is rising - what could this mean?

It was all a game…of feelings…of pain.

Death is just an illusion, or so they say.

She was just a pawn on a piece of his demented board. But there's only one question left to settle the score: Can dead people really stay dead?

very good story line but..

The "heroine" is a whiny, annoying, feeble, and often immature female. More often than not, I had to grit my teeth through her pov. Story would have been worth a full 5 stars but Sophia cost me too much patience.

OK book

Sophia is a little to needy for me, made it hard to get through the book.

Good follow up to book one

This is an intense book to follow the first book but I’m a little disappointed that there is another one. I feel some parts are being dragged out and could have been settled without moving to a third.

Besides that the writing is great and definitely keeps me hooked. The characters are good and definitely have more of their story they are hiding as well.

Off to see how this all ends!

Intrigue, passion, Crime , Punishment, hot mafia alphas......
This will have you on the edge of your seat until (sorry to say) the cliffhanger !! However it still is a great listen.
Ava’s male voice is not great but she still delivers a great performance and Jason .... well he’s Always drool worthy!!!

Wow what a ride!!

The middle episode finds out couple seeking each other. Sophia and Creed cannot be apart for long though. Creed won’t stay still until he finds her. His determination is beyond what he thinks of himself. Sophia will do anything to get back to Creed. Her strength is unmatched.
I loved the narrative on this. Ava Lucas and Jason Clarke do a fantastic job getting out the different emotions that this reading takes you on.

The love of Chao

I really hate cliffhangers let's just start with that.

I think the story is good and drama upon drama and choa is everywhere, but as Creed is running hisself into the ground to keep her safe. Sophia only thinks about the way she feels, what she wants. Everyone wants her to be happy, but she's don't think about herself or her baby and everytime she ask for something she know for a fact she shouldn't that's when the choa insures yup it's her fault.
But I would recommend this series for a good dark romance read...

Wow oh wow

This story and it just keeps getting better. The betrayal, the love, suspense has you from begging to end.

This story focuses more on Creed and his life until now. This story really helps you understand the first book better with so much back story into Creeds life. This book also has you rooting for Sophie and Creeds relationships to make it. The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat and unsure of what is to come next. I can’t wait to see what the last book has in store.

WHERE DO I BEGIN. CAUTION ⚠️ ⚠️. RANT NOW LOADING

Let me start this off by saying Ava Lucas & Jason clarke you two are the freaking Goats. AGAIN PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE OF THIS READING. wow, wow wow. Jason really has a way of making you believe you're actually living the moment with him and Ava her raw passion wow. now onto the ugly truth.

while i appreciate the storyline and even the authors creativity and thorough research, I still found myself rolling mt eyes.

SOPHIA IS THE WEAKEST DAMN FEMALE I EVER READ ABOUT IN MY LIFE. no seriously, she is so damn weak its tiring. she literally behaves like an underdeveloped 16 year old. NO YOU ALL DON'T UNDERSTAND.. EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER IN THIS BOOK THAT GIRL IS CRYING AND WHINING EVERY GOT DAMN CHAPTER! I literally felt like slapping her into an actual adulthood, mind you she's what 25? no way. nope she's a weak ass female. and Soto? how dare you try to play us readers by trying to gaslight us like this? talking about "SOPHIA you're the strongest woman I know." and "What! sophia is a freaking savage. " where the heck does being a whiney ass cry baby make you a savage. listen honestly i feel like soto should have wrote this role this character as a black women so she can show the world what a savage & strengthlooks like. (Read the book dirty kisses on here and see whata real strong woman look like. now that's a strong heroinethat had a messed up life andwas thrown into a crazy situation being entangle with the head of the bratva. you will thank me later) shit I was happy when Alexis came into the scene automatically the difference between the two woman's strength were astounding shit i would love to know more about Alexis over Sophia any day because the strength that Alexis has shown was a breath of fresh air. AND WHAT IS SOTO'S ISSUE AND OBSESSION WITH EYES? got damn shut the heck up already about eyes, in every single freaking chapter this lady goes on and on about eyes got damn SHUT UP! as for Creed. his character was well written, I almost felt bad for the man at the amount of stuff on his plate, like he's freaking batman or something. and yet and still that man still didn't break, he held his composure and fought tooth and nail exhibiting real strength. he did not sower and cry like a got damn baby every 5 seconds, damn sophia is really that annoying.

I gave the overall book a 2.5 star review sophia got on my nerves too much with her weak ass and the way Ava Lucas petty ass made her voice when she was actually speaking sound like a 12 year old had me laughing cause that's exactly how I see sophia a damn weak child. and because of soto's obsession with writing about eyes 🙄 but not just for that. towards the end the story got utterly boring i mean a damn snooze fest we stopped hearing creeds pov and it was all Sophia's poverty which was noting but whining. I throughly enjoyed creeds pov and even the flash backs. it was insightful to see why he turned out the way he did. so I would say the book was amazing up until the point sophia as rescued after that it went down hill, it got boring. ohhh. i really enjoyed how soto took us on the journey of Soph, and Creed's first doctors check. wow the details and how thorough she was. that was a beautiful moment.
