I will kill anyone who dares to threaten her.

But what if I’m the one who breaks her this time? What if I become her angel of death?

Another hit

Another hit for Mina and Brian! I love the way their relationship is evolving. I didn't see the little plot twist coming and that just made it such a Kitty Thomas moment. I love that Mina is growing so much as a character. And of course I still love Brian. Overall, a good novella with plenty of action.

I loved the narration. The narrators killed the characters.

Well written

I liked the book. It was well thought out. I plan to read more of Kitty’s work. Narration is excellent. Meg and Jason correctly read. Lots of personality, conveying that Mina has a light hearted feel to her. And Brian is a psychopath

Kitty Thomas is my fave author!

I read the author's note and know that Kitty never dreamed of Brian getting his own story let alone an entire SPIN-OFF SERIES... well that is just proof that I can give you that book characters are real. They form themselves as their own people, showing their true colours.

Have no idea what that says about me since I love Brian and Mina, and they have grown so much since the first book I read of them.

Oh, and that epilogue... man if I hadn't have read the author's note I was worried there for a moment. I truly just loved this novella so much and can't wait for the next one to release!

Brian and Mina

Brian is my favorite character in of all of Kitty’s books. His chapters had me giggly and kicking my feet like a school girl. I’m not sure what that says about me but we don’t have the time to get into that. Anyways, I love watching how Brian and Mina interact with each other. Seeing their relationship grow and change, watching them get more comfortable with each other. I love how Mina is becoming a strong, bada$$ woman. I love how Brian is starting to dive deeper into his feelings. I will never get tired of this couple and their dynamic.
The narrators did an amazing job with this! Both really encompass each character and I am especially fond of the duet narration!!

Brian and Mina's fourth of July explosion!

The Story

I loved this story! Mina and Brian are my favorite characters from the Pleasure House series and I'm so happy to see their story continue with these novellas. Seeing them both grow as people and in their twisted relationship is so fun! I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but it was great! And there's a plot twist I didn't see coming! And the Epilogue!!! OMG I want more! The book is just perfection I can't wait to see what these two get up to next!

The Narration

I love Jason Clarke and Meg Sylvan they are perfect for this series! I love this style of narration where the male narrator does all the male lines in every chapter and vice versa for the female narrator/character. Jason Clark is just the perfect Brian giving him the dark edge that we all know and love and Meg Sylvan is the perfect Mina with just the right amount of innocence but also enough grayness to rival Brian's character. A wonderful listen from this duo!
