About this listen

At last!

Return to the world of Emma Jameson’s best-selling Blue series in audiobook five, Blue Blooded.

Tony Hetheridge is stepping into a new career - private detective. As a chief superintendent for New Scotland Yard, he spent years presiding over the “Toff Squad”, handling murders that intersected with the rich and powerful. Now that mantle passes to his wife Kate, while Tony is free to pick and choose his cases. The first: the strange suicide of Mariah Keene and the simultaneous disappearance of her twin Mark. The 21-year-old twins were university dropouts, recreational drug users, and dabblers in the unusual spiritual discipline called sacred geometry. But those risk factors pale compare to their association with the unjustly acquitted triple murderer, Sir Duncan Godington.

As Tony goes undercover in the City of Westminster to search for Mark and discover what really happened to Mariah, tempestuous Kate struggles to balance family life with work. She and Tony are determined to adopt nine-year-old Henry; her estranged sister, Maura, is suing to regain full custody. At Scotland Yard’s new HQ, her best mate Paul Bhar is being put out to pasture while Kate finds herself up for a long-sought promotion. And her first solo investigation, the high-tech murder of a politician, takes an unexpected turn toward Tony’s case - and Sir Duncan. Is it mere coincidence? Or has Sir Duncan’s reckoning come at last?

There are monsters out there!

Again we view the lives of Lord and Lady Hetheridge. However, change seems to be the subject at hand.
There is one person who hasn't changed his want for human life, but then we have a very good team to track him and his followers.
Their on to his new antics, so settle in, armchair voyeur, this is going to get nasty.

Best Book of the series!

This one was a different style than the others in the series. this made it much more intriguing to follow and unpredictable.

Good read!

British-detective, class-consciousness, family, family-dynamics, friendship, friction, laugh-riot, law-enforcement, London, LOL humor, mental-health-issues, mental-illness, murder, murder-investigation, private-investigators, procedural, wealthy, situational-humor, verbal-humor, suspense, thriller, threats, cyber-criminal*****

If I tried to recap, it would take a full page. But the publisher's blurb is long enough without giving the game away. I loved it! The whole series is great fun escapism complete with laugh-your-sox-off humor!
This series is a whole lot of fun and laughs that make a mockery of reality. Love it!
I really appreciate the talents of voice actor Matthew Lloyd Davies to help me with easy differentiation of characters in the audio, and he always underplays the scenes!

Loved the series, but this one is beyond tedious

I agree with other reviewers that background information is prolonged ad nauseam with each character and each situation. Little plot development in the first 150 pages. Exactly half way through the book I gave up. Some have said that later on in the book the plot starts moving. I will never know because 150 pages of introductory explanations exhausted my patience.
