I have met the enemy…

With Jason Wolfe’s ragtag team of monster hunters hardening into a lethal unit, they’re ready to roll. And not a moment too soon.

In the wilds of northern Canada, something is stalking humans and leaving a trail of scattered remains. The team arrives, armed for mayhem. But how do they handle an arrogant client, not to mention a killer that can’t be tracked?

Meanwhile, Jason faces an inner test. His wolf nature, awakened by the vast, rugged landscape, yearns to break from the human mind tethering it. A struggle made more dangerous by Nadie, an alluring shifter intent on claiming the Blue Wolf for her mate.

With a winter storm pounding in, can Jason hold onto his command, his teammates, and his devotion to his fiancée?

Or will this mission consume them all?

A good sequel

If you enjoyed the first two, this went disappoint. Got character development with all the expected military oriented paranormal happenings. Another adventure with the blue wolf and his team, with the overarching story progressing

The thrill of the hunt is calling!

Blue Howl is the 3rd book in the Blue Wolf series. Much like its predecessors, it offers up a fun ride full of action and lore. As the title implies, this is a series, however, each book features its own mystery, mission, and ultimate antagonist. If you are just jumping into the series now, you wouldn’t be too lost on the characters and would be able to piece together their backstories from inference, making this installment (as well as the previous two titles) enjoyable as standalone reads. Having said that, you'll get the most enjoyment if you have been keeping up with the series.

Without spoiling too much of the story, the following is a spoiler free synopsis (including a little backstory). Our main protagonist, a former spec. ops. soldier turned wolf-human, is now committed to a year of mercenary work in order to obtain a cure for his lupine condition so he can return to his fiancé as a normal man. The corporation he is employed by assigned him to be a squad leader of a rag-tag team of fellow gifted/cursed/otherwise-abled do-gooders. Their mission is simple: figure out the mystery of what awful entity has emerged from the rift to the other realm, stop the killings, and kill said entity. This particular entry sees our protagonist heading to colder climates to find the abducted love interest of the hiring client. The town leadership insists the disappearances and deaths are the result of a rabid Kodiak bear, but we all know that isn’t the case. Things get more complicated as our hero starts to battle his wolf instincts/nature, particularly when pheromones are involved. Can our team unravel the mystery of the killings? Is it somehow connected to the indigenous tribe’s legends? Can the protagonist continue to do good while also trying to stay in good graces with his corporate financiers? Will our hero survive to return to his fiancé?

The author, Brad Magnarella, does a fantastic job of incorporating a wide swath of the fanciful beasts and terrors. From gods, to vampires, to dragons, somehow there is a bit of everything perfectly woven together without seeming forced. Like a cross between Pacific Rim and the Brothers Grimm, you never know what otherworldly malevolent entity is around the corner. Much in the way that describing Neil Gaiman’s 'American Gods' doesn’t do it justice, the Blue Wolf series is better experienced first-hand. Coming in just shy of 7.5 hours, this is the perfect length thrill-ride while also enjoying some more character development. The narrator, James Patrick Cronin, helps bring those character to life with his great narration. Each character’s voice is uniquely distinct, with some voices being outright charming.

Overall, Blue Howl continues, and adds upon, the enjoyment of the series. If you are looking for a fun and action packed mystery/action/adventure with a other-dimension-horror twist, then you will not be disappointed.

Another Great Adventure with the Blue Wolf

This was a much more straightforward mission than the last book. Brad tells a great story!

Overall I enjoyed the book. I struggled with the performance some. He does a great job with giving each main character it's own voice and accent, but everyone they meet always sounds the same.

If you're looking for a great on going series, give Blue Wolf a try.

A howl of a good story

The blue wolf is back in this the 3rd installment of the series. Legion has been contracted to handle what has been deemed a werewolf problem. The client is not the city in question instead it’s a private citizen whose girlfriend has been taken by the beasts. Based on the pattern, legion has only a few days before the girl will be dead for sure. The blue wolf will also be forced to square off with a denizen of the dark off the books. The challenges? The company has threatened to pull legions Tech if the contract is canceled so there’s no repeat of their last mission. LEGION will NOT be allowed to work for free. The werewolves may not be the issue. There is something out in the woods that is worse than what they think it to be. There is something dark and hungry lurking out there. Something tat will test the team in ways they couldn’t imagine. Will they all make it? Will any of them make it? Will the mission be allowed to be taken to its finish? Listen and find out what happens to the blue wolf and legion. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Takara's form

ok its been 3 books and i have to say im getting annoyed that Takara's form keeps being said as a "Dragon form" but a fire form with fethers and a beak sounds like a Phoenix and its stupid. overall its a decent story but its just annoying

Love This!

Book three is another thrilling installment into the Blue Wolf series. Some questions answered some more raised. Fast moving and fun, you will love this book if you enjoy urban fantasy like The Dresden Files. I love how versitile James Patric Cronin is. He and Brad Magnarella are a great team!

Tons of military action, monsters and magic. I love it

Tons of military action, monsters and magic. I love it!

This is a very good follow up in the series as it explores more deeply the relationships between the team members and the tensions between them and goes much deeper into the changes captain wolf endures.

I found the subplot with the female wolf interesting because it gave new avenues to explore in Captain Wolf’s life as he struggles to control himself.

The writing was good and the author finds a good balance in his storytelling that doesn’t get too wordy.

The narration for book 3 was as good as the other two. The narrator did well with the variety of voices required.
