About this listen

Everyone fears the Dark Elf King. Varys is known as a fierce and lethal warrior—none can stand against his armies.

When I’m captured by the dark elves and taken before their king, my first thought is of escape. The moment our eyes meet, King Varys claims I am his fated one—his Khio’ri.

Humans and elves have been enemies for centuries, but his people believe that a soulbond woven by fate cannot be undone.

I doubt he’s ever going to let me go. But what does it mean to be Bound to the Dark Elf King?

**Each book in the Of Fate and Kings series can be listened to as a standalone romance, but it is recommended to hear them in order to enhance your experience.**

**Steamy content. Not a dark romance.**

This book was very just enjoyable to me. It is a stand alone book with others coming in the series to expand on the world building with other characters that you get introduced to. It can be a little boring at times because the plot is very predictable and they make the same statements sometimes over and over agin but I enjoyed the sweetness of the main characters towards each other so much I did not care. The end seemed rushed and the whole miscommunication between the characters was so annoying and did not need to be in the story. The performance in the audio book was good except the male voice I felt was to old for the character. The females voice was good but I felt was alittle too slow. over all this a good leisure book to read.

I loved this book but it can be alittle anynnoy.

I liked the overall plot of the book. However, I found the side characters more interest than the main characters in the book. The dialogue was repetitive and the love story cheesy at times.

I really hope the rest of the series is adapted to Audible. It’s just an awesome series!

Excellent, storytelling, great character development, and moving love sequences looking forward to hearing more books in the series

Great story telling

While there was potential in the plot, it was easy to call the events of the entire book within the first 5 chapters. It feels like it was started as a cozy romantasy but then decided to be a serious, high-stakes drama without ever fully committing to one or the other. Generally just felt a bit childish.

A bit elementary

If you need to be told the same information, phrased in the same way, 5 times in the span of 15 mins, this book is for you.

If you can remember something stated clearly once or twice in the same period, this book will drive you insane. It feels like the book is talking down to you.

Tediously Repetitive

(SPOILER) The plot was alright. But the constant reminder of their connection made my eyes roll every time it was brought up, which was often. At least every chapter has a section mentioning the feeling of the bond. Quite frankly, half of the book is wasted on the repetitive writing about,"the bond."

One part that annoyed me the most, was that all non human kings, or leaders in the kingdom, had a human they bonded with...like come on, that just made our main characters bond wayyy less special.
I get that the author wanted to connect the series of books in this way, it just made it less interesting.
I paid for it, so I listened to it.
The male voice actor was great, the woman was alright.

Repetitive.
