About this listen

She sold her soul to a siren, and now he’s come to collect.

Victoria risks everything to leave a dangerous marriage and gain a second chance at life. But when her escape goes awry, she finds herself caught in the strong embrace of a mysterious siren, forced to choose: temporary salvation or immediate death.

And so, a cursed deal is struck.

Five years later, Victoria is alive—and the world’s finest ship captain. But her debt to the siren looms while her conniving ex has demanded a king’s ransom as the final price of her freedom. Victoria refuses to cause her family to suffer any more on her behalf and is determined to make things right before her time is up. But that time is cut short.

The siren comes for her. Six months early.

Taken to the magical and deadly Eversea, home of the sirens, Victoria discovers she’s the sacrifice upon which all sirens pin their hopes. If they want to appease an angry god and save a world on the brink of destruction, then they need her. Which gives her the perfect leverage.

Victoria strikes a new bargain: the Siren Duke will help save her family, and she’ll fulfill his demands. It’s a good bargain until a flicker of passion ignites in the scarred remnants of Victoria's heart, threatening all she's worked for. As the sacrifice for the God of Death, she’s meant to give up everything that draws her to the world of the living. But that’s impossible when all she can think about is how this handsome siren’s song, and his hands, make her feel very much alive.

In a realm of ancient magic, submerged secrets, and forgotten gods, can love find a place among shattered hearts as they race against time and the blossoming of forbidden desires? Or will the delicate songs of their hearts be silenced once and for all?

A Duet with the Siren Duke is a complete, stand-alone novel. It’s for listeners looking for a fantasy romance with deep lore, second-chance love, sacrifice, forbidden and slow-burn romance that sizzles, and a happily ever after.

Can’t wait for the next

I absolutely LOVED the rest of these books, but this one has been my least favorite so far. The storyline was still good, and the narrator (as always) did amazing, I just wasn’t wowed this time. But I still can’t wait for more!

Beautiful and magical tale!

This sorry is so amazing! I don’t read a lot of fantasy but the cover of this book was so stunning I had to give it a try! Elise creates a beautifully mysterious world under the sea that is full of color and details so clear it is easy to picture in your mind. The story is woven in a way that you do not expect was will lie ahead all you can do is wait with anticipation as the story unfolds. The narrator is wonderful and provides even more depth to this story! Definitely a must read and listen!

An Enjoyable Read

Content:
I enjoyed this one! Not quite as much as Elf King or Vampire Lord, but I'd say it sits solidly at my #3 preference for this series.

Yes, each book can be read independently from the rest, but they all include some minor references to the others since they all occur in the same world.

Victoria and Ilryth are likable and relatable. Victoria struggles to see her value and worth after a failed marriage. The burn was a bit slower than I like a slow burn to be, but the pace makes sense for this story.

This does have a type of happily ever after, though not in the traditional sense.

I need to reread the other 3 because I need to refresh my memory on the timeline of how this fits into the bigger picture story. Specifically as it relates to Katria in Fae Prince.

SLIGHT SPOILER - If you're drawn to this book specifically for the spice, be advised that it's not supernatural spice (in my opinion). I don't read a lot of spice so I have nothing to compare it to, but for the sex scenes, Ilryth takes Victoria on land and transforms into a full human... so the spice is just human spice. Personally, I'm not bothered by that but one of the hooks I saw during this book's advertising was "Siren spice" so I'd have expected some kind of creativity given his anatomy.

Audiobook Performance:
Elizabeth Evans is a wonderful narrator. Although since each book in this series features a different main character, I'd like to see some variety in narrators. It might also just be a personal thing, but the way Elizabeth pronounces Faerie (fay-ree) is so off-putting.

Elise has a masterful hand!

This story is endearing, eventful, and a little predictable at times. However, I enjoyed the slow build and smooth character development. This kind of story makes a great movie ☺️

Elizabeth’s narrations are amazing as always! Elise snagged a master vocalist! I love her a Celaena Sardothien and Bryce Quinlan, she does a fantastic job here as well.

beginning great, ending not so much

I love the beginning where the Female Lead was strong, and the Male lead was a great match for her. The beginning was great as the world was filled with pirates and also the drama I crave. but midway to the ending the story takes a turn that I didn't expect and not in a good way for me. sure the characters live happily ever after but also not really it was filled with what seems to be also I don't know how to have this story flow ending in my opinion. The Reader for this story did a great job, and to tell the truth, I love the way they change their voices to show they are different characters.

Enjoyed the story

It was a simple story yet intricate in its depth. Wish she had written more depth in the side characters to make the story richer

Pretty good, not amazing.

I personally liked the other 3 installments in this series better then this one. This one was by far the longest and it had less of the typical happy ending feel you may come to expect from this author. while I liked the main characters well enough, I felt like most of the side characters were sort of just a means to an end and didn't really add much to the story. it's not terrible, but I wasn't super happy with it either. Overall a solid 3 out of 5.
