About this listen

My name is Harper Apple, and people say I’m rotten to the core.

And they’re right.

I got what I wanted. I bowed to the tyrants, gambled all I had, and won. I’ve finally earned a coveted spot as a Dolce girl at the table of the most powerful boys in school.

Now I’m going to destroy them.

Navigating the halls of Willow Heights as a Dolce girl is no easy task, and doing so with ulterior motives only makes it more difficult. With the Dolce boys always watching and the Bitch Pack eager to see me fall, nothing is guaranteed. I can’t forget for even a moment that this is all a game, that Royal is still intent on breaking me.

Not if I can break him first.

Though my heart and body belong to Royal Dolce, I can’t let his twisted games break my mind, too. I have to stay sharp and gain the one thing I haven’t gotten yet — his trust.

But when I find out his secrets, will I be strong to reveal them to his enemy? Or have my own loyalties shifted along with my heart?

This is book three in a series and cannot be listened to on its own. Please take the content warnings seriously. The situations in this book are extreme, and your safety comes first.

Definitely one of my favorite series. So well written. Strong characters. Super intense and raw storytelling!

Real and raw! Love it!

This was a great series overall. I do have one problem that plays throughout the entire series and that's Harper's incessant need to get herself into trouble. But then again, there wouldn't be a series if she didn't feel the need to constantly rebel against everyone and everything

Great series

This series is absolutely amazing and this book is no exception. This book is dark so please proceed with caution.

Okay this is my second time through this series and it’s SO good. I find when I’m in different seasons in my life I react differently to different scenarios. This time around I’m so mad at Harper for constantly going back to Royal. There are so many’s scenarios that she tolerates and it makes me livid. This story is so complex and I love Selena because all of her books overlap so I went through a period where I ripped through all the books I could get my hands on. I wanted to know everything about the characters and their origin stories. However, Harper talks about fighting for others and she clearly has a resilience that is truly amazing. All that she’s been through, it’s hard to witness the hardship just build and build. Like when, oh when, will this girl catch a break? When will Royal get his comeuppance? There’s a thread throughout that Royal doesn’t think he deserves good things so Harper keeps trying to force him to see his value. But damn. When will he get what he deserves? Like some prison time.

Conversely, Selena books don’t follow the predictable arch where the troubled man hurts the badass female main character, she puts him in his place and he learns his lesson. With a Selena book the road is not as straightforward and at the end of some of her books you will not have closure. You will, however, need to read the next in the series immediately so you can see what happens next.

So dark, super challenging read, compelling storyline

There are no words to convey how this book hits.
It’s so good, but if you can’t handle dark then don’t do it.

*sigh*

I absolutely love this series. The narrators were meh… they were robotic. The emotion wasn’t in the right places. I was valet to get through the audio but it could have been 100 times better.

Loved the story!!

I love Selena’s work so much - the POV, the style, the story - all amazing! Will be buying the paperback versions of these stories as well. Thankyou for writing such beautiful heart wrenching stories, Selena!

So glad I found Selena

About 70% of the story is her inner dialog. Wish there was more to the actual story and interaction between actual characters.

The male narrator isn't good..so slow and awkward pauses....

Too much inner dialog

So much darkness. So much messed up stuff. You don’t enjoy a book like this, but I will say, the plot is definitely thickening. Onward …

So dark
