About this listen

Add one hidden past. A dash of a pretend role. A shot of steamy chemistry. Put it in a shaker, then pour for one exotic cocktail on the rocks!

Wesley Templeton was determined to not follow in his namesake’s path as a cardiac surgeon. Was he smart enough for it? Of course, he was a genius after all. Did he have the time and patience to master the craft? Absolutely. Was he going to let his controlling grandfather hold his trust fund over his head until he achieved what was expected of him? Hell no!

Harper Fairchild was the redheaded stepchild. Literally. Smart, nerdy, picked on, and often thought of as an outcast. Her social life was a dismal as her family relationships, so she left when she could and made a new life somewhere else. Unfortunately she found it was hard to break the mold of what cast her as undesirable. Until she loses a bet with a coworker and has to be made over for a blind date. When that turns into another disaster she escapes to a bar to nurse her emotional wounds, striking up a conversation with the sexy bartender and wondering if she could keep up the ruse of the confident, sexy chick she was pretending to be.

Good Story

I enjoyed the story and the narration. Altho I enjoyed the story, I found the 3rd person style to be incredibly annoying... it took away from the ability to get lost in the story.

Secrets, Secrets and more Secrets

Lots of secrets, most were unnecessary, but I loved the story and characters. Wes and Harper are perfect together and deserve their HEA. No cocky-alpha needed just good romance.

Outgrowing their secrets

Harper Fairchild is a food scientist, she loses a bet and has to have a.makeover and a blind date. It turns out badly and she ends up in a bar called Cardiac Arrest. There she meets Wes Templeton, the bar manager.
As they get to know each other, they begin to fall in love. There is a little bit of relationship angst due to the fact that both Wes and Harper we’re keeping secrets.
I really liked this book, the story was awesome as was the narration.
I would definitely recommend.

Let's hear it for the Nerds!

I actually enjoyed this book as I am a bit of a nerd myself. The story was cute and the characters believable. The narrators did a great job. I like how the book was set up and I enjoyed the pace.

A lot of the same, but a bit different.

A quick sweet story. I bit too quick, but still pretty good. A feel good story if you need one.

Loved it

The first book that started the “Hero Club Series” Soraya and Graham’s story Is “Stuck-Up Suit” by ViKeeland and Penelope Ward it took me forever to figure it out.
You don’t need to read the first book but if you want to....

love love love

I have been listening to audiobooks for years and this might be my favorite one of all. maybe it's because it hits pretty close to home... my husband has a job a lot like wes's one that requires no brain power however he was smart like Wes and invested properly... but still refuses to live like we've invested properly
