About this listen

She’s my best friend’s sister, and I’m her new boss.

There are three things I expect from a good assistant: Punctuality, honesty, and trustworthiness.

She says she’s all that. Despite my reservations, I decide to give her a shot.

To my surprise, she follows my every command.

She wins over our clients.

She charms her colleagues.

Including me.

Our one-on-one “meetings” are getting hotter—by the copy machine, in the archive room, on top of my desk.

We’re putting on a show for the company security cameras, that’s for sure.

I’m determined to make her mine.

Until I catch her in my office with her hand in my secret drawer.

I can’t wait to hear what she has to say for herself.

Her job (and a happy ending for us) is on the line.

Warning: Listen with caution (there’s a grump inside!)

From USA Today best-selling author Jolie Day comes a new hot romantic comedy in her Kiss a Billionaire series. It’s a standalone romance about a grumpy alpha boss and his sun-shiny assistant. Don’t be late—you don’t want to get on his bad side.

You would think that Princeton Graduate female architect would be better put together person and not acting so immature. Her character to me was cringe wordy. Some of the story lines were not believable!
If it wasn’t for Jason Clarke I wouldn’t have rated high! Not the best book by Jolie Day!

Female character what a ditz!

Really well written - probably my favorite of the series. The narrators are great too. The story is consistent with the trope but there are a few plot twists where you are sure you know what’s going to happen - just to keep it interesting!

I read this all in one day and loved it!

Loved it!

This was all fun listen without too much drama or angst. It was the classic best friends little sister troupe with humorous situation sprinkled throughout the story.

I love a story with a twist I never saw coming and this was NOT it. Predictable from the very first chapter. Cute but anti-climactic. The narrators were great as alway; Jason and Emma are two of my favorites!

Cute but predictable

I am all for using colorful descriptions but it felt like everytime she tried to describe something instead of saying “His cotton shirt felt rough to the touch.” It would be something along the lines of “His cotton shirt felt rough to the touch like a bit of half worn down sand paper that had gotten too wet and was tearing at the edges.” A little bit is simile is okay but this book took it to extremes. Every time the word like was used, I knew I was in for too much description. The plot was okay, it followed the normal rules meet the protagonist male, fall in lust, insert the drama of the story, and then end with a resolution that wraps it up nicely with a bow. It would have gotten 4 to 5 stars if only the senseless descriptors hadn’t been used, especially because it didn’t move the story along, it just made it drag out.

Too much usage of simile…

I’m so confused there are to many povs for me to follow along. This should’ve been a 5 person duet. Returning.

I can’t get past an hour
