Publisher's summary

Paige Rogers is a former CIA agent who lost all she treasured seven years ago when her entire team was killed in a covert mission. She blames their leader - Daniel Keary - whom Paige believes betrayed them. Disillusioned and afraid for her life, she disappeared and started a new life as a small-town librarian.

But when Keary announces his candidacy for governor of her state, he comes after Paige to ensure that she won't ruin his bid for office. He threatens everything she holds dear, and Paige must choose between the life of hiding that has become her refuge...or risking everything in one last, desperate attempt to right old wrongs.

I thought this book was very good!

I am looking forward to the next book. I really enjoyed the story very much. I got passed the reader's voice and got into the story!

great read!

while I always prefer to have both a male and female narrator. she did a good job. I love how the story shows flawed hero and heroine. it reminds us that Christian's aren't perfect, just forgiven.

Outstanding!!!

This book had a wonderful storyline! I was engrossed the entire time and could not turn it off! The narration was something different, but I really enjoyed the different voices!!

Fairly Good Story

Story would have been better if not so dragged out. Could've tightened it for more impact.

Narration needed more strength and fortitude. Too breathy.

I thought I loved your books.

I thought I loved your books. Good story lines, suspense, Christian characters. UNTIL you started talking about the bad guy like he was our current US President. You sound like the liberal crybabies that don’t care at all about our country. Comparing him to Hitler? I voted for the Supreme Court, against abortion and against Hilary. In doing so, I voted FOR Trump. For Christian Values. For freedom of speech. For one man and one woman.
Tell me you weren’t going that way..Fighting for the liberal nonsense. . I doubt I’d believe you. There’s nothing but hatred in the Democratic Party. And frankly, persecution of Christians.
I won’t be buying more of your books when you’re pushing that agenda.
Done.

Enjoyed from beginning to end

I enjoyed all the characters in this story line. Moving to another town and starting a new career as a librarian to escape the black cloud following her around saved the main character. Allowing her parents to believe she was dead to protect them. The bad guy Keary gets what he deserves without sharing too many of the details. I appreciate a good clean mystery without all of the profanity and sexual content. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Narrator was good as well.

Brilliant author, average narrator, great dramatic storyline

Not a fan of the narrator doing a child’s voice or the coice of an older woman. Sounds whiny, weak and frail - kind of annoying to listen to. Other than that-great book!

Excellent Story!

At first, I did not think I could continue listening to the story: the narrator had such a phony accent, it really was a discredit to the story. But the more I listened, the more I wanted to listen, in spite of the narrator. It really was a good story that got even better as it went along. I think I’d like to read more of this author’s writings. Hopefully, a different and better narrator!

Reader’s voice ☹️

The reader’s voice was so irritating. Her voice was too whiny. But I used my credit so I suffered through it.
